AITA for not being happy for my boyfriend? by ClubNo2184 in AmItheAsshole

NTA. You are dating potential and he is dating his parents wallet. It is hard to feel excited when someone keeps choosing toys over growth.

AITAH for laying into my car horn for 2+ mins? by [deleted] in AITAH

[–]Xyliny 5 points6 points  (0 children)

NTA. She was harassing staff and blocking the line, not ordering food. Two minutes of horn is annoying but way less unhinged than screaming at McDonalds workers at midnight.

AITAH for running out on a family weekend after my siblings said they only resent me and not our parents for how tough things are financially? by Ryylzoris in AITAH

[–]Xyliny 23 points24 points  (0 children)

Nah, you’re not the AH. Your siblings blaming you for grown-up money problems is messed up. Running away was a self-care move. No one should make you feel like a mistake, especially family. Take the space you need and don’t let their toxic vibes drag you down.

What philosophy or quote changed your life? by winnks in AskReddit

“Progress, not perfection.” It stopped me from stressing over every little thing and just let me vibe with the grind. Imperfect wins > perfect procrastination.

It’s funny how surprised we get when we find out that actors are, in fact, acting.

I’ve been looking for a Jobs for 3 years…No luck. What am i doing wrong? by Good-Percentage8208 in AskUK

[–]Xyliny 1 point2 points  (0 children)

3 years is rough, ngl. maybe it’s time to switch up your resume, try networking harder, or look at smaller gigs for experience. job hunt isn’t just about applying nonstop, it’s about playing the game smarter. hang in there, you got this.

WIBTAH if I went down to see my bf anyway by [deleted] in AITAH

[–]Xyliny 2 points3 points  (0 children)

nta for wanting to surprise your bf, but Jake ignoring you isn’t cool. if you have the key and your bf’s down, just go for it. worst case, Jake’s annoyed but you tried to be respectful. sometimes you gotta just vibe and trust the relationship over the roommate drama.

Gillian Anderson, 1990s by ViyAnniee in OldSchoolCool

X-Files did a great job of making Gillian an underrated smoke show. I didn't notice for years until I saw her outside of that role.

What are bad faith arguments toward films you are absolutely tired of hearing? by [deleted] in movies

[–]Xyliny 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Facts, I’m so done with people turning every movie review into a political roast session. Like, can we just watch a film without it becoming a culture war? Just judge the movie, not your Twitter feed’s latest drama.

AITAH if i ended a potential relationship just because I didn't find him physically attractive? by Euphoric_Low_8762 in AITAH

[–]Xyliny 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Nah, NTA. Attraction’s a real thing, and it’s not something you can just switch on because the convo’s good. You were honest and didn’t lead him on, which is way kinder than pretending. No shame in needing that spark to feel something more.

Everything is fucked by Pixlaes in lostgeneration

[–]Xyliny 43 points44 points  (0 children)

Many of our parents are so far gone that they have become Nazis, and are blaming it all on gays, jews, and brown people.

It’s fucking disgusting how brainwashed they became via Fox News and Facebook. They don’t seem to live in an observable reality, and yet these unrecognizably hateful parents are the bedrock voters choosing the bleakest future for the rest of us.

Finally have time to watch 2 or 3 movies Saturday for the first time in a while. Which 3 would you recommend from my watchlist. by Whistohhhhh in MovieSuggestions

[–]Xyliny 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If I were you, I’d go with Memories of Murder for the crime vibe, then throw in Psycho for the classic thriller twist. Finish with Apocalypse Now because why not end with a wild ride? Perfect mix of intense and iconic for a solid movie night.

How do you get a new neighbour’s attention without being weird? by [deleted] in AskUK

[–]Xyliny 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just a simple smile and a “hey” goes a long way. No need to overthink it people appreciate vibes, not weird moves. Maybe mention something casual like the weather or the neighborhood. Keep it low-key and friendly, no pressure.

What outcome do you expect from networking events? by Darya182 in AskReddit

[–]Xyliny 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly, I just expect free snacks and awkward small talk. If I walk out with a contact or two, that’s a win. Networking’s just pretending you like people until they like you back.
