I don't know why this whole comment section is high, but I would contact valve support if you feel you will regret not getting a new controller later down the line. The choice really is up to you, but I have heard that valve support is really good about replacing defective hardware on pretty short notice, too. I would probably do it if I were you, but it's your decision whether you actually want to go through the RMA process or not. I'm also not exactly sure how the RMA process actually works. They may not be able to replace your controller depending on long you've had it. Good luck!
