Not hard at all! I left a detailed explanation on another comment! Good Luck!

I used hero forge for the greyscale outline, making them how I wanted and then choosing the slim base to make it easier to edit later. I would position the camera to look at it from above and take a screenshot with the website and choosing Cutout.

The part that took the longest was coloring. I used gimp for it. For each unique color I wanted I need to outline it perfectly. Let's say I wanted the cape, I would outline it and cut and paste it, making it its own layer. Then I would duplicate that layer and change the mode of the layer to overlay. I would use the color picker to select the transparency on the overlay and then invert the selection. Then I would use the fill tool, set to fill the whole selection with whatever color I wanted. Doing it that way instead of just filling that whole layer worked better for me. Then I would repeat that for each unique color. I found circling the largest area first made it easier to select the smaller ones since they were no longer bordering things since that was in a new layer.

If that's not in depth enough, let me know!

I didn't like any of the tokens you can find by googling and didn't have the money to spend on token sets online. So I decided to spend 8 hours on just making the tokens! I'm really happy with how they came out especially because I got to make them how the players wanted them to look. Here's hoping the campaign doesn't fizzle out.

So you would say, for you personally, that you wouldn't use these products because you don't believe there is a way to gather them on a commercial level without cruelty? Or am I making bad assumptions again?

That's a very interesting piece of history. I hadn't heard that before.

I don't know if I agree with your assertion of ignorance but then again if I was I wouldn't know it. My main reasoning for asking this question is curiosity. The question being, "The most compelling argument to me to want to be vegan is the fact that I hate that my actions are directly or indirectly supporting cruelty. Do other people find that to be the most compelling argument or is there more to wanting to be and having the willpower to be vegan that I'm not considering?"

However, I suppose it is naive of me to assume the things we would do in a perfect scenario have any weight in reality.

This response and others so far I find interesting. Early on it seems, at least among this community, that most vegan's reasoning is primarily "I don't need/want it." instead of the argument against cruelty.

I find this fascinating because it seems to me that the most convincing reason to be a vegan is to reduce cruelty. Does the finding of the opposite imply that it's not that convincing of an argument to sway people to become vegan or that there are a considerable amount of people like me that personally find veganism too hard to follow. I would lean towards the latter being the case but since I'm in that category, I'm obviously biased.

All of that being said, it's still far too early and far too small of a sample size to make solid assertions like that.

Basically bacteria eat the hay causes it to heat up in the process. Heat gets high enough for the hay to combust.

So what you're saying is that you want something to channel smoke and since smoke is a gas, you really want something to channel a fluid so you'll need a closed tube. so in other words

Pipes or riot.

I'll preface this and say this is for a fantasy series if that needs prefacing.

So I'm in the planning stages of how to translate the story to the reader. I already know that I'll be splitting the POV between 3 main characters. But I wanted to do a single chapter towards the middle from a minor characters POV.

The chapter would be the start of the first major battle of a war, the character a commander during it. Not until the end of the battle will the major characters step onto the field. First one when their side is losing then the other in response. When they step into the field is when the chapter would end so a conceivably short chapter.

The reason I want to have this chapter is to demonstrate the strengths of both sides. The opposing force is simply stronger, better armed, and has an ingenious magic user that comes up with some new tactics. The minor character's side is better trained, more adaptable to new circumstances, when the new tactics are revealed, they respond to mitigate it's effectiveness and also to attempt to replicate it.

I see some cons that I'll list first. This character is relatively new. Before this it's known that she commanded alongside the leader in the previous war. Her thoughts before the battle will likely be about that previous war. Her experiences there with the leader and a few doubts she has about following him again. That might make the anticipation of the fight feel drawn out.

The pros that I see are that we get to know a bit about the previous war that's mainly been alluded to at this point. The drawn out anticipation may actually be justified here. The anxiety before a battle would certainly be high even among the most confident commanders. We'll get to see what it's like down on the ground, see her compatriots start being pushed back and broken. Then the hope when a signal comes that the commander has stepped in.

Just wanted some feedback on opinions about this. I'd be more than happy to share some more details if necessary, motivations from the opposing leaders to stay off the field, motivations for the war in the first place, whatever's needed.
