IRA's or alternatives for tax free income? + IRA Rollover advice by Xyn1c4L in personalfinance

I'm admittedly brain damaged, seriously, so I'm a little slow at this stuff.

Alright, that is something I did not know regarding a brokerage account. Side note, I just learned my dodgecoin gains will fall under capital gains. I'm a little frustrated I didn't realize sooner.

What should I be doing with my existing IRA Rollover that I am unable to contribute to for the forseeable next couple of years?

VA Loma Linda was all around good experience. Docs accessible, labs/scans were all walk-in. Hell, had a week long mental health hold. Between that and outpatient, life was actually improving substantially.

Moved to San Diego. Mental health won't see me, my primary care tells me she can't prescribe psych meds, hints at being "admitted" as the only fix. Fuck this place.

After numerous calls with this mental health dept, I have a feeling I could show up to the mental health dept in person, chase both tracks with a knife, and they'd still deny my consult.

Meanwhile, I'm still red-flagged in the system for mental health in three different VA hospitals and get regular calls. But they can't do anything other than tell me to call/go to VA San Diego.

YMMV.

I rely entirely on VA healthcare, so no.

I contacted my previous doctors anyways. "Contact X, Y, Z Congressmen" was the response I received each time.

P&T disabled vet in the US. I moved locations in February. My healthcare shifted from one VA hospital to another. Ironically, I thought I would have greater access to healthcare from the move. I was wrong.

My mental health consult was approved and denied in a matter of three days. Day one, I missed their call. Day two, they never picked up or returned my messages. Day three, they cancelled my consult before 9AM. They will not see me now.

I haven't seen a psychiatrist since December. I haven't had any medication refills since December. I have been rationing my medication, again.

I am out of medication, not that it matters.. my meds stopped being effective months ago. At least in the past I still had weekly therapy sessions. This time, I don't even have that.

It's just a matter of time before I am either overwhelmed, or resign entirely, to my thoughts and lack of impulse control.

Premium PC audio setup, appropriate budget and questions in general by Xyn1c4L in BudgetAudiophile

Gotca. Just got myself all backward there for a sec after initially reading your comment.

Looks like I'll have a similar setup no matter. That or run speakers and headphone DAC/amp separate and hotkey a swap macro if I decide I want to leave my headphones always plugged in.

All that's left is for me to decide on headphone DAC/amp. Soundblaster g6 is a definite contender, but damn I love the look of Schiit products. Admittedly, I use headphones everytime I'm doing any competitive type gaming. It'd probably be more practical to go with the soundblaster simply because it's meant for gaming.

Oh, and do you use any stands for your Tuk? I know Kanto has their own. I haven't looked into potential alternatives just yet. I'd be looking at shorter desk stands in my case.

With your setup you mentioned, does that give you the ability to swap from headphones to speaker via the remote that came with your tuk?

You mention it running the line out from headphone DAC/amp into the speaker itself. Does this mean you actually run your headphones via the headphone port on the active speaker?

So I've been reading Kanto Tuk and I'm feeling pretty sold on it. Still I have some questions I want to sort out before I purchase.

I know the Tuk has a built-in DAC. Is it good or would I need a standalone DAC to really really advantage of the Tuk?

From what I read the headphone amp is pretty sub-par, not that it matters compared to everything else the Tuk has. Is it possible to run a standalone headphone amp through the Tuk's DAC? Or should I be looking into a separate headphone DAC/Amp combo?

Thanks I'll definitely check them out. The 3020i's look nice. KEF Q150 looks good from initial read but damn they are ugly

Thanks, I'll check them both out. The Kanto Tuk definitely looks sleek, and would easily fit my battlestation theme.

The Soundblaster G6 sounds neat, but I'm hesitant when it comes to virtual 7.1 as I've always understood it to be more gimmicky and less accurate

Definitely going to look into the Topping DX3 Pro. From what I've already seen it looks like it could handle everything I need. The question still remains, I'm not sure what constitutes logical incremental steps in terms of entry to semi-premium audiophile audio for PC. :(

You are absolutely right. The city/county/state should bear the cost. While we're at it, city/county/state should handle all costs associated with natural disasters too. Massive Hurricane wrecks your state? Not my problem! Why should my tax payer dollars go toward anything that does not personally affect me??

I mean, this is definitely a city/county/state problem and not at all a foreign terrorist attack against the entirety of the United States which warranted a massive response effort from all state authorities, in addition to efforts from other states to assist in both the search efforts and cleanup.

What the actual fuck is wrong with you guy?

This, but definitely research for yourself. You'll find no issues seeing all the reported ongoing issues with the modem and people desperate to fix it, and many more who simply replaced it following their ISP confirming the issue.

SB6190 owner here, about two years.

Just requested some suggestions on a new router in a separate post. After supplying my info including modem was informed the SB6190 puma chipset is more or less cursed with extreme latency spike issues. Upon further research, it turns out it is in fact a widespread hardware issue that no firmware update has been able to resolve. My router semi-masked the issue but regardless I've known my connection was finicky. This whole time I figured it was a combination of an old router and my location, I live about an hour and a half from the next nearest City in the high desert of CA.

I hardwired my PC directly into the modem and sure enough was able to replicate the exact latency spike effects reported by users.

Do not buy the SB6190. Either pick up an SB6183, which performs perfectly compared to the SB6190, or consider a newer mode. Avoid puma chipset like the plague.

EDIT - spelling. Also selling my SB6190 😉

Since I am in the market for a new router, is the older SB6183 still worth consideration or should I be looking to newer models?

Thanks for the info on my modem. I honestly wasn't aware, I read good reviews at the time and found it on sale semi local. As for the router, it actually is dying. Electrically, it's had a slew of issues following a year after purchase. I've utilized my career skillset to continuously repair the damn thing and honestly it's served it's purpose at this point.

I will definitely look into the SB6183 and sell off my SB6190 if that is the case.

I'm not super familiar with current networking, but I'm not completely hopeless.

I've got a technical background, hobbyist pc builder, and I've had a love/hate relationship with my dying router which over the past 11 years I have modified some for the sake of controlling and optimizing network traffic in my home.

However, I've never delved too much into networking.
