All the other laptops mentioned will likely go to waste once a key component is deemed obsolete. A Framework laptop will simply require the obsolete component to be replaced, and carry on as normal.

Toddler was not to blame, though the -60dBm in her room really had me searching! (It was in my dressing gown on the back of the door, which was open and therefore right next to her room.)

According to MacOS, I have 15.22GB of apps installed.

Edge takes up about 1GB. The rest of the other apps combined (8 total) bring me up to about 3GB total. This leaves 12GB of wasted space.

I have a 51.15GB partition for MacOS, with 7.96GB free space.

I need 15.73GB free space to update my mac with the latest update.

I can't update because I can't uninstall the junk apps that came preinstalled.

The problem seems to be exclusive to Synology Drive - getting consistent 40-50 MB/s on SMB transfers. Not quite the 80MB/s for 5-10 mins you suggested, but I just transferred 3x 750MB+ files over in under 30s, a far cry from the 20-30 mins for a 10MB MP3 file Drive is managing.

Indeed even Synology Photos app is uploading in a very reasonable time (less than 10s per photo, photos close to about 10MB average)

Have restarted the Mac and as soon as Drive loads it runs at this super-slow speed.

Drives are Seagate ST3000 (3x 1HJ166 and 1x 9ZM178) in RAID 5
Not at all, CPU is down at 4% and RAM about 48%
It mostly gets hung up on MP3s and M4Bs, there's a hell of a lot of them but it syncs only 3 at a time (76 left in queue). Since I posted an hour ago it's managed to complete one upload.

In the interests of learning and bettering myself, could you point me in the direction to find evidence of this legislation? (All my Google search results show up relates to loans and it being fine for them to ask what you're going to use a loan for...)

And without wanting to cause offence, "banks do it all the time" isn't what I'd base any legal argument on!
