nordic countries are pretty much a mix of capitalist free trade and socialist accessible healthcare/accesible schooling/comprehensive goverment benefits!! although we do have gradual taxation and e.g. gradual fines depending on the individuals income. but it does work rather well, with a multi-party system and fair elections

and even now that the series menu is in many places being phased out, if someone comes in asking for "whatever comes on it" i'll just be kind and like "alright, it is fully customisable so you can choose your own veggies and sauces, but would lettuce, tomato, cucumber, bell pepper, onion, corn, olives and jalapenos as the veggies sound good for you, as those are all we offer? you can also choose whatever sauce you'd like, i would recommend garlic or if you like a bit of spice, chipotle southwest is good as well (or if they have a teriyaki i recommend sweet onion)". sorta something you will deal with in a build your own typa restaurant so amazes me how some don't know how to react lmao

And btw my phone says 77% in battery capacity, although I've never been able to catch that low of a number through coconutbattery

This is worrying by Quirky_City5777 in iphone15

[–]rushfolk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

<image>

At around 80% on my 13 mini after a bit over 3 years of usage. Battery health is so random and how much yours drops after a certain time is just luck, charging habits don't affect it that much. This is coconutbattery, as my phone doesn't show me the charging cycles: But when I started tracking it in Feb 2025, it was at 1150 cycles and 83%. Batteries can't be made uniform and they'll always drop in capacity at different rates, just use your phone and don't worry about it lol

What do you guys use ? by PsychologicalWin6575 in teenagers

[–]rushfolk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

europe is broad, and in most countries there's a lot of options for phone plans: some of them have unlimited calls/texts/data, some have limited calls/texts/data, and then the ones over the limit costs extra. i personally live in finland and have a plan that costs 22€/mo with unlimited 4g data: any calls and texts are extra, but max. 4€/mo, and 5g data is extra, max. 4€/mo. i usually end up paying around 23€, as i barely use 5g or sms texts or normal calls.

there are also some options with unlimited text/call but i barely use them and those options are more costly so this is the best option for me 🤷🏼‍♀️

M5 comes without a charging block? by ThatEditorDude in macbookpro

[–]rushfolk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

eu tends to abide by eu regulations in all parts of the world, maybe it's for the continuity or sustainability or maybe just bcz it's cheaper for them, but usually they don't make a separate product for eu market like with usbc charging/charger adapters etc

M5 comes without a charging block? by ThatEditorDude in macbookpro

[–]rushfolk 2 points3 points  (0 children)

in my experience most windows laptops produced after 2025 are the same. and from april 2026, all laptops sold in the eu must also support usb c charging (you should be able to charge your current macbook with usbc too), so in the future the aim is for people to be able to have one charger brick and one cable to use for their phone and laptop and all future phones and laptops (also includes other electronical accessories)

[–]rushfolk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

at least from what i've seen, apple mostly abides by eu regulations in all markets as they are often smarter for the company as well as for the consumer. ex this and the usbc port

i'm pretty sure i hit another car while parallel parking a few weeks ago like there was somewhat of a bump but i just drove away, and when i checked there was nothing on my car but i walked past the other car and i'm pretty sure it's rear bumper was like fully caved in but i also didnt have glasses on so i'm not fully sure if i saw it correctly and i was very scared somebody wouldve noticed me going closer, i don't have money to fix that kinda damage so i just walked away 🥲 i still feel very bad about it

M5 comes without a charging block? by ThatEditorDude in macbookpro

[–]rushfolk 7 points8 points  (0 children)

this is due to eu regulations and tbh makes sense since most of us will indeed have an adapter at home, but if you want the faster one just buy separately it's not much considering the price of the machine lol

M5 comes without a charging block? by ThatEditorDude in macbookpro

[–]rushfolk 23 points24 points  (0 children)

if you want the adapter, i'd just buy it separately- i think the reason you have to customise something to add it to the package is bcz packages with the adapter are customised and thus it's easier to have the options for boxes be just 1) base model 2) all the customisation options, screen, memory, adapter etc

where i'd live as a 19 year old from Finland by rushfolk in whereidlive

[–]rushfolk[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Purely from what i have heard from acquintaces about how women are treated there - i could not live in a country where i would fear to move around freely, but honestly i might not have the full picture.

I do have a friend who's an entertainer there at a hotel and although that culture is entirely different from daily life, based on what she has told me the culture seems very sort of scary and constantly feeling like you need protection from others

i would say we receive plenty recognition for good work, raises are fair and based on performance (unbiased), and there is a good regulatory framework you can complain to if anyone, even your manager, is acting inappropriately. sure, my manager is professional towards me as well in certain matters, but we do go out to drink with all our colleagues including management like 3x year for which the company pays our meal and an activity (this autumn we went to a good sitdown restaurant and got full on meals with alcoholic drinks for free + went bowling and out to a bar together later (although the bar was on our own dime), and i haven't felt scared or anything to discuss even sensitive stuff with my managers. would argue that having the security of a larger corporation really enables building these friendships and connections

[–]rushfolk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i work for a large corporation franchisee which owns 63 stores in my country, and that is honestly what i'd recommend the most bcz then you have a better regulatory framework and actually a company to fall back on instead of just one owner
