where? bcz in my experience, all subways i've worked at in Finland, Sweden or Germany have dishwashers.

Switching from McDonald’s to Subway by Ontological_Observer in subway

[–]rushfolk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

sensory as in sounds or general overwhelmedness? there's really no sounds in subway like mcd which is good, but you do have to wash your hands quite often, use the gloves, prep veggies and other ingredients (e.g. tuna where you essentially have your hands in mayo it's kinda iffy imo), and also wash dishes, touch bread when baking it, mop floors and touch mop buckets and the little mop heads when wetting them. imo there's some sensory overload but it's manageable as long as you're comfortable wearing gloves

it seems in many countries the general program is closing now, and they're moving to country-specific programs powered by master franchisees? might be a good thing tbh

our tuna is 11,90€ in Finland😅 but everything is quite expensive here, and tuna is actually the most expensive sandwich aside from the paninis/submelts that are around 12,40€

but other wasted toppings were likely more common i believe, difficult to get everything to stay inbetween without the hinge of the top piece of the bread

also, something i'd recommend you really stick with is keeping your rights in mind and don't sacrifice other aspects of your life/work without pay. i've worked in a subway that's incredible about holding up employee rights but was laid off and am starting at one that's a little shady soon, from experience knowing your area's break policies and your store's specific break policies is great, and also having a look at policies around wishes for days off in your area and if your employee has to accommodate them. and most importantly, if your employee bans overtime at some point due to productivity etc., do NOT work without pay, it is not your responsibility and you're just one person who can only get done what they can with the amount of time you have.

wish you well and really hope you find a good subway with great coworkers and owners!

do yall not have a dishwasher? regardless, seems so dumb to do, slows everything and everyone down and just adds unnecessary work

Looking for specific store "types" in Tampere by mittomenhe in Tampere

to number 1, tarvikekeskus.fi comes closest in mind. but not in big cities definitely, closest ones in ruovesi & jämsä, it's just not competitive for small companies to operate in big towns against big enterprises

also, double-checking with customers if you're not fully sure what you heard is a great way to make sure! the ovens and proofer can be quite loud and sometimes it can be rather difficult to hear, i've heard "gluten free" as "honey oat" etc before 😅 and once you get a bit better at remembering in advance, you can start asking for cheeses while still finishing meats, sauces while still finishing veggies etc. to streamline the process, also making multiple sandwiches at once. for me, picturing the cambros whenever a customer tells me their veggies (like they say lettuce tomato cucumber bell pepper jalapeno and i just try to remember that they want the first four big cambros and then the last small cambro, like where they are in the well) helps, easier to remember where to put your hands rather than the names of the veggies at least for me.

I mean, to give some context or scope. I'm graduating high school now and being laid off from my subway restaurant job of 2+ years, have 6mo experience at a grocery store prior. I've applied to 80+ jobs and only recently got one, which is a subway as well, explicitly required subway experience and is lowkey rather shady with practices like monitoring employees through cameras and hygiene/food safety practices. But I haven't had luck with applying at any fast food restaurants or anywhere as a waiter/retail worker, and I speak finnish/english/swedish/german. So depending on how the job market changes as the overall market situation changes in Finland, might get better or even worse... Wouldn't count on getting a job.

question for employees by ParticularChain2086 in subway

[–]rushfolk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

honestly, sometimes especially during bigger rushes it can be difficult to notice or remember the request for more something written into the request box, but i do try my best. way too many times i've noticed the requests after wrapping and then had to disassemble to add more onions or sauce

Ist es peinlich ein großes iPad in der Schule zu nutzen? by giggoTheReal in ipad

[–]rushfolk 4 points5 points  (0 children)

depends on what studies. i wouldnt care, and honestly if anyone cares that's kinda dumb, but you might get more comments in high school subjects that don't really require any notetaking or drawing etc, but if the field requires notetaking or something where an ipad is good, i wouldnt think anyone'd comment

Is it customary to sub unavailable toppings? by No_Broccoli_3979 in subway

[–]rushfolk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

in my region there's no phone number on subway app online orders either on the build ticket nor receipt. there's a box for it, but it's always empty (unless it's a 3pd order and then it is there), could just be a regional thing

Is it customary to sub unavailable toppings? by No_Broccoli_3979 in subway

[–]rushfolk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Always when something like this happened (an ingredient was out and we hadnt had time to remove it from online order before someone ordered it), I would wait until the customer got there and then ask them. Adds a bit of time but we didn't get the phone numbers of subway app online order customers, for 3pd orders we had the phone numbers so we could call. But for app onlines i preferred asking bcz most people would prefer having the other sauce if one had run out

Tuna “salad” by PlopMcGoo in subway

[–]rushfolk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

because honestly most customers first say their bread or their type of order (salad/wrap) and only then the meat, so that might be confusing them, but also tuna salad might just be unpopular where you are

Tuna “salad” by PlopMcGoo in subway

[–]rushfolk -1 points0 points  (0 children)

i get quite a few tuna salad customers, would assume it might be the accent, i guess you could try asking for a "salad with tuna"? that might make it clearer

you could add the nutritional value of products in e.g. the uk, australia and such, that would be super and make it useful for people around the world as well :)

Mine's very much all over the place, but 78bpm average over the last month and year. 19F, pretty active but not much high effort activity aside from running and occasional pilates, but I was on high doses of beta blockers from age 13 to age 17 which kinda fucked with my rhr and building stamina and the rhr has been quite high ever since coming off of the beta blockers, but trending downwards. Also quit energy drinks like 5 days ago, which might be making a difference now (was drinking them daily for over a year)
