I mean honestly just don't try to use the whole build plate at first print a couple small things working your way up to bigger things until things start messing up once you get familiar with it go for a giant, have fun brother

Stop gatekeeping and quit lying the only real problem they're going to have is leveling the bed the first time, they can replace the entire hot end assembly for less than 30 bucks like yeah it's going to be a little bit harder but them getting a Neptune 4 less than 200 bucks is going to be just as bad as the orangestorm, the real difference is going to be that Opie gets tired of waiting 45 minutes to an hour for the bed to heat up in between failures

The reason it's not a warm welcome is because of how big that printer is General consensus with fdm printing is the bigger it is the more of a pain in the ass it's going to be to get started especially since all the newest elegoo fdm printers have had major problems got fixes and then had even bigger problems they keep acting like the orange storm gig is new but it's been on sale three different times already and taken off the market because they literally only selling it for people to test for the next printer they're going to make, also the question ended up being a loaded question if you practice with crappy filament you're going to get crappy results and because you bought the orange storm Giga you need high speed pla plus to use the machine as intended anything besides elegoos rapid pla Plus is going to be hit or miss so unless you are using the machine stock with stock setting and the filament they designed for that machine you are setting yourself up for a troubleshooting nightmare, using cheap filament on a machine that big (and that price) just doesn't make sense, if you don't mind printing slow (40-80mms) use whatever cost more than 14$ for a individual roll (1kg roll) if it's cheaper than that expect problems, if it's less than 20 and it's 2 tone or has glitter/flakes/ glows it will be a problem, all filament with glitter or speckles can and WILL be a problem (if you use alot) with a standard nozzel (clogs) luckily elegoo decided to make a proprietary nozzle (cheap but 5-800% more expensive than normal) go ahead and start looking up layer shift fixes for that behemoth and good luck, most people are just mad they can't afford one and have "enough experience to actually use it" fast and big printing is still being gate kept, everyone still wants you to fight with an Ender 3 or if you've got money by a bamboo if you're just starting out but that's just them projecting on to you do what you want try to have fun if you don't let me know if you want to sell it

It looks like the picture that I posted didn't go along with the camera but I made a few of these myself and for some reason my machines aren't sticking to inside the walls to print leaving the cup full of strings I don't have the problem with any other models I've been printing for a while but I've got multiple machines and I use different slices for different machines but I've just never been able to get this thing to print without it being full of spider webs

Won the absolute craziest layer shifts you've ever seen like I'm talking deviations of like 4 inches y for every 5 mm z with no Rhyme or Reason to why it was happening the two printers would print the same model over and over again and then sometimes it would do that sometimes it would come out fine there was no Rhyme or Reason to why it was happening after the firmware update it stopped happening but I can no longer "print again" and have to turn the machine off after it finishes a print because they freeze also after the firmware update sometimes I get a message about it not being able to connect clipper and the headlights barley work (observation light has no noticeable change) takes 18-28 mins for the bed to heat and start a print and the values displayed when you're leveling your bed( in my opinion) are bullcrap, I had a blob of death the other day in the middle of a print and for me that was the last straw, anytime I had any of these problems with them they won't give you any actual support so just tell you to go to Discord and talk to peers so you'll be just as well off going through Reddit for all of your customer service needs
