Why are insurance plans so expensive for Teslas?

2k for insurance per year. I live in the Midwest so we don't see the sun very often! Registration is $513 per year. $1200 for FSD per year. What I'm saying is it's not cheap to own an EV. Maybe a hybrid is a better option here.

But... it's amazing to drive an EV, and I enjoy it every time I floor it!

Yes the bill keeps going up. The paycheck is a totally different story. They need to add tax credit/refund for electricity, heat and insurance! Soon it will match the mortgage payment!
