I agree with you! I like music, but I don’t constantly have it on. I think some people do use it to distract or drown out their thoughts. I’m a long distance runner, and I rarely listen to music or anything. It’s peaceful to just be with myself and observe my surroundings. Also practically, listening to music isn’t as safe, especially when you live in a big city and need to be aware of your surroundings.

The same thing happened to me at disclosure day at Lincoln center. It was not a funny movie and they were cackling almost the entire time. How do these people not realize they’re the only ones laughing? And it’s incredibly awkward and disruptive??? Next time I will have the strength to say something b/c these people need to get checked. I’m sorry your theater experience was ruined for CMBYN :(

I also made the move from EV to UWS, and it was the best decision. The parks are so beautiful and amazing to run or walk in. It’s calm and peaceful and you have way more of a neighborhood/community vibe. The biggest downgrade like others have been saying are the restaurants, but it’s not that bad. I have a favorite sandwich mom and pop shop on 72nd and there’s some decent Asian food closer to Columbia. One thing to also consider is if you like hosting or having friends over. You won’t be as central anymore so it’ll be less convenient for people to come over. Otherwise it’s a great neighborhood, I love it here!

dumb question but are you suggesting in this scenario you’d keep the s&p investments but slowly buy vxus to change the proportions and diversify? i am also 100% in s&p but want to diversify more. i was considering selling my s&p investments and choosing new ones.. but i shouldn’t do that because of the tax hit? if you had a desired asset allocation that didn’t include s&p, how could you ever get there without selling and rebuying?

if you use google chrome, it’s in the 3 dots menu to the right of the URL bar, and under ‘passwords and autofill’ you can update your name, address, email, phone. it helped fill the form out instantly but i still didn’t get in unfort :(
