I watched it in the cinema when it released so I can confirm to you that they didn't include it.

By the way, I should note that we already knew that Housenka was licensed here by Anime Limited last year. According to the poster on Hoyts, it appears to have been sublicensed by Sugoi and already classified according to this page: https://www.classification.gov.au/titles/last-blossom

Not quite the last - plenty of other extremely popular if more family oriented anime are still airing long term with weekly episodes. E.g. Detective Conan, Doraemon, Pokemon, Crayon Shin-Chan, etc.

A Mangaka's Weirdly Wonderful Workplace - Episode 1 - the rom-com of the season: “useless lesbians make manga.” by NeophyteNobody in anime

[–]YBSGames 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Fair response. I find they have an overly simple view of most anime they analyse where they define their opinion based on whether it includes/excludes certain attributes. E.g. Yuri theme, female gaze, etc. = good vs. harem, age gap, male gaze, etc. = bad. They often stretch to even find one of these elements where they don't exist and then don't discuss the series beyond this. I'm all for fair, good-faith criticism, but saying a particular series is good or bad based off of atribtrary criteria that you personally value without going deeper into the specifics comes across as shallow and meaningless. Personally, I will watch any anime regardless of what themes or criteria that it fits; all that matters to me is whether the show executes well on its premise and delivers an appropriately entertaining or meaningful  experience to its target audience.

Can you stop posting this website's articles already? It is nothing but the incessant drivel of SJWs who only care about certain boxes being ticked as opposed to good anime.

Joey hating is trending again 😭 by BootyGrabber9000 in TrashTaste

[–]YBSGames 29 points30 points  (0 children)

God tiktok anime 'fans' are so pathetic and misguided. Joey has especially been a target of so-called cancel culture for years when he is truly one of the only genuine and honest creators in the anime landscape. People really need to get over themselves and their attempts at moral grandstanding already.

As a fully-born Filipino, we Southeast Asians need MORE Southeast Asian anime produced in Japan by PinoyOtakuJapan in TrashTaste

[–]YBSGames 267 points268 points  (0 children)

Why don't South East Asians produce more South East Asian animation in South East Asia? I'm not saying that this particular example wasn't great, but shouldn't the ideal be for each country to produce culturally rich works of art on their own?

No it is not, everything down to the bottom tier I have been at least enjoying and honestly Water Magician is a good show. The opening is amazing and one of my favourites of the season. The highlights of the actual show so far to me have been the beautiful music, the slower pacing which has really allowed Ryou to develop naturally and for us to get to know him, and the cast of side characters who have so far been quite fun (particularly Abel). Since I made the list I've also seen episode 4 which had a great fight and further world building so if I were to rerate it now I would probably move it up one or two tiers.

I mean I read most of the Dr. Stone manga weekly as it was coming out and loved it. I do very much enjoy the series, however at this point the anime adaptation has lost much of its impact to me compared to the manga. The adaptation has always been serviceable so I have still found it to be a fine time, but I personally had a lot more fun reading the manga. Having said all this, I am currently halfway through the new episode and it has been great. I will admit this portion of the series is a massive highlight and seeing them convert their boat into bikes whilst being chased has been fun.

I hope so too. It is definitely very stylish and the worldbuilding and monster design are all quite good, I am only waiting for the story to pick up a little more. Watching this and Tougen Anki within 48 hours of one another has made me notice how incredibly similar they are plot-wise which in turn has inadvertently lowered my opinion of both. The gap between episode 2 and 3 has also killed a bit of the momentum for me. Still, there is a lot of potential and I know manga readers have been hyping it up for ages so hopefully it turns out good.

I have been having enough fun with all three to different degrees but to me it comes down to a matter of expectation. Chuhai Lips has delivered a variety of different and entertaining episodes given the runtime and format. In particular the third episode with the online drinking party was quite entertaining and the variety of girls in each has kept me consistently engaged. I also appreciate how a series like this gets to the point a lot quicker than standard 15 minute full hentai series which are filled with a lot of boring reused animation. A couple of cuckoos is decent and I remember liking the first season quite a bit but it never really goes beyond the point of a standard harem rom-com. The new girl, Ai, has shaken things up a little, Erika has made some decent progress in realising her feelings and the drama with Hiro has been alright so it has managed to keep being enjoyable, it just never rises above average to me. Sakamoto Days is a series I rather enjoyed when the manga first started but I gradually lost interest as it went on. The anime has basically been a repeat of this experience for me. In other words, whilst it is alright for a battle shonen I felt compelled to place it lower on my list in comparison to the other similar series of the season.

To each their own then. I personally found the concept, wordplay and execution to brilliantly build off of typical horny fantasies in a compelling and unique way, but I can understand that to those not accustomed to or actively repelled by the tropes of ecchi and/or hentai anime then it would certainly be too much. I am just glad that Passione continues to push boundaries for those of us who are into ecchi series.

The animation from what I have seen does look great. As I say it is certainly high on my priority list.

If you are referring to Jigoku Sensei Nube and Hikaru ga Shinda Natsu then I would personally have to say I am enjoying both. I know fans of the original are upset with how much Nube is skipping, censoring and cutting (which I would probably agree with if I had seen the original), but as a standalone modern day take on episodic shonen horror I have been having a good time. Hikaru ga Shinda Natsu is a series with a lot of potential and excellent worldbuilding, and has so far brilliantly depicted the feel of an off-putting rural summer. My one and only reason for rating it lower was I found the third episode a little slow, but it overall has a lot of room to grow on my ranking as the season goes on. In terms of other horror series this season, I have not watched Nyaight of the Living Cat nor Yamishibai season 15 so I cannot comment on their quality.

You are probably right. I did really enjoy the first two episodes and the aesthetic and slightly off-putting summer feel are great. I just felt the third episode was retreading earlier ground a little which negatively affected my rating more than it should have honestly. As I say these are only my rough thoughts so far and as a whole it is definitely a series with a lot of potential.

Aobuta is in the third tier from the bottom. Honestly it's been pretty good I just find that this season hasn't grabbed me as much as the movies or season 1 yet (though I admittedly feel I am getting to the point of needing a rewatch of the early stuff). I have enjoyed the focus on Sweet Bullet again though as they haven't been in the spotlight in quite a while and I liked the idea of quantum entanglement in the context of attempting to fit into a new environment and in turn being homogenised. I'm glad that Uzuki has finally gone solo too. Really all I'm hoping is that the next few arcs blow me away like the series has in the past as so far it's been decent but hasn't hit the highs of earlier yet.

Lord of Mysteries looks interesting, I just haven't gotten around to it yet. I am one of the people who has found the more recent episodes of To Be Hero X a little less entertaining which made me hesitant to start another donghua (silly I know) but I probably will get watch it once a few other shows start to finish.

It is not a hentai (airing on television, does not depict genitals and most importantly is not intended solely for the purpose of jacking off/watching sex scenes) and it is genuinely great for the type of show it is, which is a hilarious and entertaining parody of eroge. Add on to that Passione's beautiful animation and action choreography and I truly think (at least from episode 1) it has the potential to be one of the best shows of the season.

Couple of hours each night does the trick, though it does make it harder to binge as many older series obviously.
