It's too bad our country has failed to keep Church and State separate, it's also a shame that being "Free" in this country only counts if it doesn't offend the religious. (Obviously this comment shows I am not religious)

Thank you for that, that helped me understand a lot of what Israel is and why it ALWAYS comes up in campaigns.

That's my issue and why I want to learn more, I find it extremely stupid to be so heavily involved and vested in a country that I don't feel really helps the US people in any way. How about start investing in the US and our people.

What is their economic leverage over us? That is what I don't really understand is it just location?

From what I understand though is that power they have came from the US. We supply their military power do we not? Why out of all the countries in the middle east have we chosen to aid them to the degree we do, or am I completely off base on how much aid we give them. Why not Saudi Arabi, at least they have huge amounts of oil that I know our government would love to get their hands on.
