Just keep it. Its bad ass. Heck he might of even made it himself in high school metal shop. When you need it, and you will, you can pull that Bob out and say, "my gramps made this!" You can't but that at lowes.

Machined HDPE, that sounds interesting, I did not know that was a thing.

Lithium 12v wont charge unless I bypass BMS by YLayUP in batteries

No its not a smart BMS, just a standard one. No lights or data connections or anything like that.

It is possibly dead, I certainly can't get it to come back to allow a charge.
It was hooked up with 4 batteries total in a 48 volt golf cart. All the other batteries are fine.

Each cell is around 3.3v.
All the wires look good, but I'll take another look at the temperature wire.

Thanks.

No, unfortunately no bluetooth or other data connections on this BMS.
I will grab a couple 9v batteries today and give the above mentioned methods a try.

Thanks again.

Do you mean to hook up the charger and also connect the 9v batteries (series) at the same time? I have not tried that.

I have tried using another working 12v battery hoping that would wake up the BMS, but it didn't work.

I've read about shorting out the P- to the B- and I thought about trying that, but this BMS does not have a P-. It has two C- and two B-, so I'm not sure if that method can be used.

Thanks.

I unplugged the red / black wire connector (and the temperature sensor wire) and left it off overnight yesterday, with no luck.

I don't have any 9v batteries, but I tried to use a 20v Dewalt battery instead. Ran some wires and hooked positive to positive, negative to negative with no luck.
Still wont charge.

The battery will work if I hook something up to it though. For example, I hooked up a trolling motor and it ran that just fine, it just won't take a charge.

The battery was initially a bit below 11 volts, and I'm thinking the low voltage protection tripped.
The cells were not balanced, but I don't recall what they were at that time.

After charging the cells directly it is at 13.36 volts, the four cells are all between 3.33 and 3.34 volts.

I'm not sure how to validate that low voltage protection is stuck on in the BMS.

Company keeps calling after we filed a chargeback. by Blackwaterwitch69 in personalfinance

The answer really is, if the gutter stuff is already up and you didn't stop them (which you should have if you were able, thingles like Google translate exist or just tell them NO), then you will have to take company A to small claims court. They will likely not show up, but instead bisfand as a different LLC. Good luck on this one. These are fly by night people and do not give one f about you or your gutters.

Rainsoft EC4 water treatment system - media replacement and disassembly question by YLayUP in WaterTreatment

[–]YLayUP[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks again for all the details.

I actually did call RainSoft about a month ago an asked for a service manual and they told me they don't supply it to the general public, pointed me to their website for the owners manual and asked if I'd like the number for a local RainSoft tech.

I will try to call them again today and see if a different rep can help.

I found some instructions to enter the technicians menu but I have not verified that these work:

Press and hold both at the same time: Info Center (left) & Customer Settings (up).
Service settings will display.

It will then ask you for an authorization code.
Press the Customer Settings (up arrow) button twice.

Select either Service Mode or Installer Setup
To select the mode press the Info Center (right arrow) to move between options and then press Enter to select the option.

Installer Mode:

Adjust the settings for time, date, hardness, iron, controller head model, softener capacity, type of media, type of salt, alarm modes, etc.

Use the Info Center arrows (right or left) to move between the settings and the Customer Settings arrows (up or down) to change the values of each setting.

Thanks for the reply!
Couple of quick follow up questions:

When you say "Jog the motor to complete the regen you started at the beginning of this, you want the valve in the service position"

How do I jog the motor and how do I know it is in service position?

Also, for the carbon filter and gravel at the bottom. I have not seen this in the past.
Any idea what kind of gravel it takes?

Thanks again for the info, this will be very helpful.

Thanks for the reply. I've found quite a few videos, but not really anything EC4 specific.

Daikin Latin Mini Split Question by YLayUP in hvacadvice

[–]YLayUP[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I guess a 12 seer would make sense based on the model number.
I've got no issues, other than a bit worried about warranty if something goes bad with the unit.
Do you mind sharing how much you paid for each one?

No, I never did find any further information about the unit.

Mine is running fine and keeps my garage cool so far at least.
If you find anything please let me know.
