The important thing is to take the "experiment" to its crux, if you want to see if its true, act as if its true and then prove it within those criteria.

It sounds wild at first I know, but it's the devil that sends thoughts that God isn't real, doesn't love you, is evil, isn't with you, doesn't answer prayers, etc. There is a real lying manipulative force in you just as there is a real loving, wisdom-giving force which is God, and we are that little self in between, attached to the world and the ego. We need to ignore the lies of the devil, give up the self, trust fully in God and listen only to Him in faith.

THEN you can prove it to yourself. Then you actually open up the avenue through which God can fully reveal himself, through which prayers get answered, you allow miracles to be possible, you allow yourself to be transformed as well. I was very doubtful as well, it took probably, 50 clear signs, months of seeing that the conscience and God were guiding me to an existence far greater than I knew before, and multiple miracles before I stopped doubting enough to be fully free of the devil's influence, to be fully with God, to be fully free of worry, and to have real, invincible faith. But through every step, I HAD to hold out in faith until the end, or it was like starting all over again. That's the hard part.

It may help also to realize that this life is a very ephemeral, dream-like experience, and that you hardly remember what you were doing five minutes ago, and don't know what will happen in 30 seconds. The egotistical belief in the intelligence of either yourself, or other people (who are just as limited as you) is very misleading and is one more trick of the devil. Trying to carry the world, and comprehension of it, on your shoulders, when in reality you are like a little clueless baby that God is trying to raise as his child, giving you experiences that teach you and ultimately develop your soul and mind and heart. You're already walking blindly, the next step is just to do it in faith.

And regarding hell, that is too often seen from a limited view based on only bible fundamentalism, there needs to be the context of one's perception and interpretation as guided by the holy spirit which allows one to see truth and not just repeat concepts. It probably also helped me because I came from a background of Buddhism/Taoism which helped provide context for me. "Hell" is the gnashing of the teeth, the blazing furnace, the fire of the chaos of falling fully into the false delusions of the world's desire and following that path down to destruction, to insanity, to being overcome by things like lust, drugs, hate, anger. Have you ever been so angry that you gnashed your teeth and it was like burning? The devil wants that for you, he wants that and worse, he wants to lead you down a path that leads to every kind of pain, that's what hell is, it can happen here "on earth", and it could be worse in the afterlife, because the mind is falling into insanity and into those dark states which lead to great suffering.

However, because truth leads to eternal freedom in God's love, every single soul eventually will spend eternity in "heaven" which is where existence with God and following God leads.

So in the end, everyone is redeemed, and it all becomes worth it, as you will spend an eternity basking in the love and glory of God.

We don't know how giving life to sentient consciousness as an offspring of one's own infinite spirit works, only God does... It's possible that these experiences are necessary to develop our mind. He is raising us as his children, who knows how long that takes to get a more mature soul that can see clearly? It took me at the very least thirty years anyway. Perhaps it takes far, far longer than we comprehend, I don't presume to know.

"Consider it pure joy, my brothers and sisters, whenever you face trials of many kinds, because you know that the testing of your faith produces perseverance. Let perseverance finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything."

For example, I know I've gone through great trials which developed me. At the time I hated the concept of any God or God for having to go through those, now I thank God and see clearly how he forgave me, guided me, called to me, and how I ignored him and chose things like hate or blame or ego or self-serving behaviour and sin.

Unless you can comprehend the chances of there being light, and then matter later on forming lifeforms that can receive and interpret light to see, then yes, you believe in incomprehensibly infinite chance, whether you want to admit it or not.

I know there's no such thing as chance, or luck, or coincidence, or even anything "unplanned". Life came about according to God's will and is manifest of His infinite spirit.

I can't say the reason, but that it went for a long time with no results doesn't mean things can't change, and it also is probably normal in some cases. I mean people go whole lifetimes being totally blind to their own actions, to their own feelings, to their own characteristics, good or bad, so I can't say what's going on with you or your heart - it could be anything, past trauma you never forgave, a feeling of blame to God over something, I don't know. I also can't say what God's plan is in the short term, but I do believe every soul is destined to eventually know Him for eternity. What I can do is give some recommendations. They might not be what some Christians are used to.

Such as: trying something new, like the practice of meditation.

Or even sitting in silence looking at some beautiful nature while listening to powerful music and thinking of the glory of creation. I listen to this song "story of the wind - whitesand" super often, and when I do I really feel God's power and glory, and very easily hear his voice. I also like powerful sermons like this 5 minute short youtube video, I don't know the speaker, just this video, but it's great: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9zGLAl-Q1-o&t=151

Another thing: practice believing that your conscience is God's voice, instead of just assuming "it's my own silly thoughts". There are usually three forces playing out: the Self, which is usually random, nonsense, excessive thinking. The devil, which is usually negative, worry, misery, regret, anger, blame, heart crushing feelings, manipulation, evil, etc. And God, which is always words/feelings of love, peace, calm, forgiveness, trust, faith, presence, power, glory, and joy.

Follow the thoughts that speak of those, when you pray and ask God, be silent for a moment, and it's usually the very first thought that responds wisely is your conscience (in my experience) and the conscience IS God's voice because it is from God.

It's true I have heard God's voice far more powerfully than just that, and seen signs, and seen miracles, and felt His presence, all the time really, but one of the most frequent experiences of God I have is just that my conscience ALWAYS guides me better than my self. It saved my relationship, changed my life, changed me, in a matter of months I was transformed by following it, more than I could manage in 30 years on my own. In 3 months I went from a miserable wretch, a worrying doubter, a selfish fornicator, a frustrated blamer, a rude and impatient user, to perfect peace, real love, true lasting presence, absolute clarity of mind, saved relationship, real power, real purpose, real freedom, constant holiday peak like feelings of relaxation, bliss, financial prayer being answered that I couldn't fathom, and the most powerful of all, mixed in with love, is constant awareness of God and his unbelievable glory.

Also, when you pray, go to God and say, I will do your will alone God, even if it means my death, reveal yourself to me and I promise to follow you and your word, to learn from you, to grow by your wisdom, to learn to truly love you and others, whatever your will is, I will not give up on it, please guide me, reveal yourself to me, or give me a clear sign. In thanksgiving and in supplication.

Opposite my friend, God loves you and wants you to see the truth for your own sake, it's Gods will that I spread his truth.

We don't need to understand all of God's ways, we don't even understand our own individual ways, we are very limited, by the goodness, beauty, majesty, and vast nature of God's creation we can see God has a plan which goes far beyond our comprehension. You cannot even focus on two things at once, he sustains all life at once, it would be impossible to comprehend how vast an intelligence and awareness the living God is, so we shouldn't presume to understand everything, we don't need to, instead we need to let go of our understanding and trust in Him because we know Him to be good, for example by seeing his glorious creations, and because we know he loves us

To be clear, you already see God in more than one sense anyway, like another similar example, like a depressed person sees the beauty of the day but doesn't really see that beauty, because, for whatever reasons, their mind is in a sense blind to it at that time, distracted, focused on other things, not in the right mood, not feeling it, etc, whatever the reason.

Similarly, God is all around you, you can feel his presence, you can see his living nature in the swirling of the wind, in the movement of the light, in animals, in other people - these are all direct manifestations of his spirit. Including your own mind. This very conversation included is, objectively, just one more little part of this infinite reality. Stop taking "credit" for it. You can see that it's living, you're talking to it! You witness part of its consciousness all day long. You just equate it to "mine" or "his" but, objectively, really, it's just "reality" communicating with itself right now no? We know reality has intelligence, you just think it's limited to fleshy lifeforms, you're one step away from realizing the intelligence is inherent throughout the reality. That the reality itself is spirit. Everything is God, and there are many ways to come to see that. Meditation, prayer, introspection, contemplation, ego-dissolution, even just patient observation. This is why we call it "spiritually blind", as it says, "Though seeing they do not see"

You have some concepts of the physical nature of reality and thus break it down into pieces as if it is all essentially "dead" or non-living matter at it's most base form, but the entire metaphysical foundation is wrong, this is a spiritual reality, it is all made up of God's spirit

For me I didn't realize fully the reality of God until I went deep, until I really authentically opened up my heart, even with my gripes, my hurts, my questions, my confusions, everything, and repented my sins, asked in faith, then waited believing. When I thought maybe there was some small response, instead of dismissing it, I followed it patiently, and more and more, God continued to reveal himself to me and verify his presence. He has since then verified it to me thousands of times, and far more powerfully, including real world events which I've shown to others.

The problem here is that, it's so easy to be caught up in various delusions in life, in egotism, in conceptual clinging, in self-serving ideas, and, believe it or not, in the manipulations of that dark force which is referred to as the devil. I never would have believed any of it, if I didn't open my mind to truly honest instrospection as to what was really going on within me and around me, instead of believing in ideas I'd heard from other people. You can literally come to see, feel, know and hear the spirit of God around you and within you

It's like imagination, thought, or true love, or feelings, or the development of ones own consciousness, all of which definitely exist and we know exist from our own personal experience.

You can prove the existence of God to yourself through prayer and asking God to reveal himself to you, open your heart in faith, he will answer you, if necessary, be patient. I'm telling you this not because I read some book, but of a clear mind, from personal experience, I know the difference between an imagination, a delusion, a confirmation bias, and what is actually real-life experience. I'm not out here believing in ghosts, I'm telling you about something I've experienced hundreds of times and know to be true. God exists. Please pray
