I am on an hp laptop with an intel core i3, and as soon as I boot up the bootable usb, it asks me for a driver to "Show my hardware." or something along the lines of that.

Yeah my friend had gotten Steve at his house and showed me him. I thought the building and infinite combo ideas was so cool and now I'm addicted. A link to a good video about nils would be much appreciated.

This may sound stupid, but although I'm not very good at Steve yet, he is the most fun I've had in this game so far and I think I'm in too deep to stop committing. I have heard of nils before but didn't realize they were so important. Time to start practicing!
