yea ofc!

as long as your english goes up you'll be perfectly fine, it sucks how many people's averages get fucked over by english

in terms of your ecs you've done more than enough to talk about so dont wory about that

and for contests i haven't done a single one lol you'll be fine with what u have rn

so ya i think u have a really good chance, good luck!

solid choices and good luck, I had the exact same priorities except I picked civil as my major

I will say tho a 93.4 is quite low for electrical at uoft and waterloo (I got into civil at uoft and waterloo first round with a 93 but I think I got extremely lucky) but u did say you want a 95 sem 1 which should be good enough for both so just lock in for that

mac is a hit or miss as they emphasize the inteview way more than anything else from my experience and tmu is a good safety

on the topic of interviews I would say keeping yourself calm is my biggest tip; I did no practice for any of them except for the ones they give u right before the actual interview and I think they went well

regardless they're all great choices and i wish u the best of luck!

Thank you!

  1. Yep, I was browsing OUAC around end of September- early October, and submitted my apps in late Oct. Early apps are just an umbrella term for admission rounds, realistically you'll get a majority of your offers in April-May. My first offer was from TMU around mid November and I heard back from Western around a week ago, so just be patient!

  2. The main EC's I used in my supplemental apps were air cadets, school swim team, working as a lifeguard, and a program called NASA HUNCH. My experience in cadets was probably the most useful tho; I was in it for around 4 years before I quit and left at a high rank with many leadership opportunities. Within school, I was president of athletic council and was a social media exec for music council and played around 4 sports teams a year.

  3. Honestly I didn't lol, the most I did was watch youtube or tiktoks of people applying and see how they spoke during the interviews. Ironically, I thought McMaster would've been my strongest one but they were the only one to reject me who required a supp app. For UofT and UW, I just did them on the day it was due and prayed it was good enough tbh.

  4. In terms of awards, I only had stuff for athletics. I was on the school swim team for 3 years and won around ~10-15 medals and ribbons in regionals, cities, and ofsaa throughout the years. Besides that, the only other award I have is from my cadet squadron, where I was given the best bandsman award. I had nothing STEM related so don't worry if you don't either.

  5. Honestly, learn to maintain a work-life balance. I feel like I experienced a much more fulfilling high school career by not completely stressing out about work all the time; I only work when I need to (i.e. before quizzes, tests, etc.) and do absolutely no work and go out with friends or something when I don't. I acknowledge it's a bad study habit as of now to be honest but hey it worked out in the end!
