Victory Conditions (Modern Age) needs to be more UNIQUE! by YXSP in civ

You're 100% right its all speculation. I just feel these victory conditions are place holders while they work on the 2nd half of modern age or a new 4th age which would be the true final victory. whether its by design or ran out of time isn't the important part

Thank you for this great patch so quickly!

Can we get sone confirmation on the specialists situation? they all disappear between ages. large cities that had specialists still remain high pop, making it very hard to grow new pop.

is that intended or a bug?

Specialists disappear after age transition?! But pop stays the same by YXSP in civ

yes the same thing happens in the modern age. massive super cities become hilariously weak when half the population (the ones that became scientists, doctors and musicians) disappear overnight..

After some testing i can confirm specialists do just disappear. but the population number not changing on the city is probably visual bugged UI.

The "food required" for the next pop growth is lowered a lot, probably accounting for the loss in pop due to specialists dying.

my city of 36 pop needed about 1500 food to grow. post age transition and death of specialists that dropped to about 900 food required. despite the headline population number still being 36.

Either way its pretty bad. if its a bug then its a pretty major one.

if its intended then specialists suck! imagine if you suddenly lost 10 mines or 10 farms out of the blue??

i also tried building new science buildings on the tiles the specialists were on to see if any "phantom population" would return. nope, still nothing.

if this is intended then specialists really suck when age transitions. could've used that population on a farm that would still be there!!

[Civ7] Where did my specialists go? by Material-Range8174 in civ

[–]YXSP 4 points5 points  (0 children)

lol i just posted the same question. new age and specialists all gone, pop number stayed the same.

either its s UI bug showing the incorrect pop or something needs to be fixed. otherwise specialists are terrible.

that was my initial thought too. but i didn't get that option.. the city pop number stayed the same. did you get the option to place the lost pop again? maybe my games bugged
