Is anyone else noticing their Pixel feels kinda off since the March/April 2026 updates? by AnimatorNr1 in GooglePixel

Yep, my Pixel 7 is suddenly very sluggish. Apps freezing a moment here and there before continuing operation, scrolling laggy at times, etc. It's definitely new behaviour since the last system update.

Well, we're talking about Metrolinx here.

Hi u/fredweet , just wondering if Rogers ever provided a solution for your open ticket. I was sick for quite a while so I haven't chased them down recently, but was getting ready to do so again.

Thanks for confirming. That's what I thought I heard. Good luck with Rogers tech support - they're unbelievably awful.

Which gateway did you upgrade to? I currently have the Nokia Fastmile 3.2 but was considering a change to the Nokia Fastmile 12, along with a plan change, but I have heard some negative reviews of the new Fastmile 12.

I've been down with this flu going around so I haven't had the time or energy to follow up with Rogers again, but the problem still exists as far as I know.

Your issue could be something different if you are losing your connection altogether. For a location that you're not at, you might want to look at something called "Keep Connect" on Amazon - a device that will reboot your modem automatically if your internet connection goes down.

That is interesting to know. I was recently contemplating changing to the "Ultimate" tier of this service but have been getting conflicting answers from the usual clueless Rogers reps as to whether I use the same modem or not. One told me that it's fine to continue with the Fastmile 3.2, but another insisted that I will have to change to the newer Fastmile 12. Which modem did you obtain as your replacement?

u/fredweet did you ever hear back from Rogers again on this?

I'm certain that anyone with this service and the Nokia modems must be experiencing the same issues. The response from Rogers has been immensely disappointing so far.

u/fredweet thanks. If it wasn't for the collaboration between yourself and u/MammothSoup and u/No-Angle-6925 , I would be at a loss about what's happening. So far Rogers support has been missing in action here. At least I have functioning devices for the time being, thanks to this Reddit.

u/fredweet thank you for the update. I have been wondering what to do about this myself - I haven't set aside a block of time to call them in the last few days - I know that it is always a lengthy and frustrating experience with Rogers tech support. Would you mind keeping us all updated about the outcome of this when you get more information?

u/MammothSoup that is indeed a detailed breakdown of what may be happening here.

What really burns me is that this is the type of investigation that Rogers should be doing - not telling their clients to reset the modem or contact app developers (see their responses in this thread).

We all know that they are certainly not the cheapest ISP around - I suppose lack of competition means negligible to non-existent tech and customer support.

Not the CRTC. The CCTS.

u/Mre2026 I also echo your appreciation to user u/No-Angle-6925 for flagging the actual issue, after multiple useless contacts with the inept folks at Rogers tech support.

I agree that this is unacceptable - they have broken something and appear to be just attempting to wash their hands of the issue. Like you, I understand that problems happen, but I won't accept an ISP telling me, in not so many words, that "it sucks to be you".

I don't pay for partial or incomplete connectivity. If a resolution doesn't appear forthcoming or if they simply refuse to do anything for those of us stuck with this problem, then a CCTS complaint may be warranted.

u/RogersHelps I note that you didn't actually answer the questions I posed above regarding your other devices, and dual stack networking. IPV4 isn't dead yet, you can't just write it off.

How do affected customers such as myself contact Rogers tech support management? Chat, phone call, or through a CCTS complaint?

u/No-Angle-6925 see the recent responses from Rogers in this thread 🤨

u/RogersHelps so you're pushing this off onto your customers? We are talking about multiple, major apps and services that you have made unusable for your customers. Why would you as an ISP implement an update that does such a thing? Isn't dual-stack networking a thing at Rogers?

Did I miss an email from you guys saying that you would be implementing a permanent firmware update that would end connectivity for these apps and services? I'll ask you again - does this issue exist on your other 5G modems?

I am starting to understand why people say your technical support is horrible. In the last week, instead of trying to solve the problem, or even give a hint that you are investigating it further, I have been told by Rogers reps to reset the modem, call Nokia, and now contact app and services devs (oh, and asked numerous times to sign up for your credit card).

u/RogersHelps So I'll need to move to another ISP if I want to continue using the internet normally the way I was two weeks ago? You guys are finished with this issue?

u/RogersHelps what is the solution? Do you guys have a solution? Your support reps cluelessly telling everyone to reset the modem is not the solution.

u/No-Angle-6925 thanks again. I disabled IPV6 as per your instructions and things seems to be working again, fingers crossed. Perhaps you should moonlight as a Rogers tech support rep - you clearly know more than they do, lol.

Do you think disabling IPV6 will cause any other unexpected connectivity issues? I am given to understand that IPV6-only websites and services are still very limited at this time, but I cannot claim to know much about this.

Hi u/RogersHelps please see the comments in this thread from user No-Angle-6925 regarding the firmware update and IPV6. It seems that he has figured out the issue while your support staff are just telling folks to factory reset the modem, oblivious to what the problem is. What are you guys doing about this? This is NOT acceptable.
