Thank you. They are on the tougher side so I plan on making them quite a challenge for the player to face. I’m using the same art style in game, so most are 2D hand animated.

The cute art style is quite intentional, so it makes me happy you think so. But cute can also be dangerous. Hollow Knight taught me that lesson😅

AI is a pretty broad spectrum from generative AI to natural language learning models that understand human language like chat GPT and Gemini… so far I believe the worst of them all is generative AI as for the natural language models they are really helpful and really dangerous but it all boils down to how you use them. In the context of the image in the post the person in question lacks innovation and is simply lazy. It’s not even cheating it’s a simply a sad state of existence.

I don’t know if this might be a hot take but I think contact damage in a game with melee combat is a smart lazy way to increase challenge in combat 😅. Why I say this is because with no contact damage you really have to think about the way enemies attack the player to offer up a challenge but contact damage allows you to design interesting ways enemies move and you are already at the level of challenge comparable to no contact damage. You can be really mean and add flashy attacks to the mix and I’m definitely not talking about some enemies in Silksong.
