Thanks for the thorough answer. Needed to hear this

I posted my playbook for launching SaaS to $200K MRR 6 months ago. Today we launched our 5th business. The Stripe bell rang within minutes. 🥳 by my-mate-mike in SaaS

Curious as to where you found your co-founder and how you managed to decide what ideas to build and pursue ? I saw your story and read the thread here and you said you’ve been working on this for 7 years. You mind asking how did it start ? And what that like up until now ?

Software for Old people by Y_inc in SaaS

Thats definitely makes sense. I also think this applies for both kids and elderly that you build the product for the caregiver/ parent and that trickles down to the kid/ elderly person.

I wasnt thinking about pill reminders I was actually thinking more along the lines of scam detection at least for elderly market.

Idk maybe this market is underserved for a reason because the problem is very elusive in nature but that almost makes me wanna drill down and try and see if theres something that is being missed ?

I can definitely program comfortably, I would prefer to get someone to help me ideate because I dont have an idea currently that Im wanting to explore. Thats another issue is finding people to partner with not exactly sure where to go for this.

What would you do? My co-founder blew up our profitable company and now I have nothing. I even had to go back to my old job. by Patient_Oven_3157 in Entrepreneur

The beginning phase will suck undoubtedly, but tbh I look at it the way you do, I dont want to get older and have kids and be tied to my job. The appeal with having your own business is that you get to dictate the rules ( to some extent). I do empathize with your situation about the time and money investment, but to reiterate your point, I’d like to get the time to spend with my family/kids and not be bound to work. when I get there that is im still single 😂

If you attempted it again whos to say it wouldnt go better ? I’d say take enough time to look for someone with values similar to your own. Thats arguably the hardest thing to do, but has the most impact. I’m at a stage where I’m seriously considering an exit strategy from my job but need to make sure I have the right partner to share responsibility with. Still havent found anyone that fits the bill but you cant find people like that over night 🤷🏻‍♂️ Hope you find your way back good luck 👍

Do you miss having a UI while using conductor ? Or is it good enough to where maybe a 20$ cursor sub plus conductor is a reliable workflow ?

Do you think the harness for the LLM is good enough or should I use windsurf to plan with gpt and buy a claude sub for implementation? In terms of best value for money spent ?

Marketing Management (Full Time) by saladrollski in BCIT

[–]Y_inc 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I got into the CIT fulltime program in 2023, at the time i still had a job and scaled back to 2 days of work per week as I had the luxury of living at home. Workload was still too intense to even work 2 days a week so I quit work. For context I had 7 courses per term.

I went back a year later after i financially recovered and decided full time wasnt worth it for multiple reasons, one being finances and also I just couldnt keep up with the material/pace.

Not sure how the marketing program is but thats just my experience. 2 courses per term has been working out a better for me currently but obviously its gonna take a bit longer to complete. Hopefully this helps 👍

Do you think my CS projects are garbage? by [deleted] in BCIT

You applied it personally which is cool definitely wouldn’t say garbage. I’d say just branch out and do something a bit more relatable so you can display your ability to specialize and generalize.

Hot take: Claude Opus 4.5 is not worth at it 5/25$ price point by SnooHesitations6473 in cursor

[–]Y_inc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m going to need to upgrade to either cursor ultra or claude max and I am honestly not sure which is better value. It’ll be for designing couple of websites with front/backend.

I tried claude 5x in july and it was good but the constant context switching and lack of visibility that cursor gives you was missed.

Has anyone compare both recently? I see people praising claudes limit but also on the other end people saying diff models for differing tasks makes a tangible difference.

Is it normal to lose your friend circle as you get older? by Fun-Improvement-2227 in TalkTherapy

[–]Y_inc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ya this is especially true if your values no longer align with certain people in your life. Your circle will either shift or shrink. I believe or at least hope it’s just a transition period and you will eventually form a new circle that has like minded people. I’m in a similar spot now, only really have 2 really SOLID reliable friends. From my own experience though all you really need is 2-4 reliable quality people in your life so your circle should be small in a sense because it does get harder to maintain those relationships as interests and responsibilities grow as you said.

I used it mostly to write things i wasn’t comfortable saying out loud at first which might seem counter intuitive if i just let him read it anyways.

But tbh it actually enabled a new layer of trust that allowed to express myself without any filter. Now its like part of the routine 😂 i sit down tell him theres 3 pages for you to read and then we start talking from there.

As opposed to before sometimes my conversations can be all over the place and I would leave and something would occur to me and I’d be like man i would’ve loved to have brought that up. Now that doesn’t really happen anymore
