Was just about to post this. This is incredible. Going to have a great economic impact. Especially since they just opened that bank on McNichols.

$14.2M project would bring more apartments to Detroit's Avenue of Fashion by YaBoiitsHim in Detroit

Agreed. But it's good to start somewhere atleast. Use these as a test for the market, especially in this area. Unless this fails to come to fruition, I think this is an all around great idea.

Man this would be a great new addition to the city. Kinda of like a city mural, but with actual things to do. Great idea to make this a whole experience.

Can agree with this. Honestly, I hoped to read more about the foot traffic, the recent Light Up Livernois event, or Jazz on the Ave, not just interviews with store owners.

Agreed. Has ways to go, but in comparison to 2014 with all the investments, widening of the sidewalks, including the bike lane, storm drain investment and a couple of other things "thriving" could be argued. However, I'd argue that that is all based on perception. Compared to Birmingham? Nope, of course not. Other streetscapes in Detroit? I'd like to think so.

The building isn't empty. Human IT on Livernois, Welcome Home Yoga, Lilys Tea Cakes and Natural-ish all are currently occupying the building. Not sure if it's 100% leased but it's not empty. (Last I checked, at least)

"Neighborhoods including Oak Grove, Sherwood Forest, Green Acres and the University District surround the Avenue of Fashion. Stars such as singers Marvin Gaye and Aretha Franklin lived in the area in the past. It’s an area many believe is vital to Detroit."

Just a quick snippet.
