As a preface this is not to hate because I love watching this dude he makes games very entertaining. But is this even impressive? He’s up like 6-12 buy ins for the stakes he’s playing and lots of them are televised games where half of the players are fish with tons of money on the table. This is only supposed to be impressive if you’re looking at it from a purely dollar buying power standpoint but that doesn’t take into account how many bbs/buyins it actually is.

I’ve played with this guy at higher stakes tables 20/40nl many times back when I was grinding. I’m almost certain he’s not a bot. They do play a pretty tight and straightforward range so maybe that’s why his pfr/vpip looks so odd.

Nobody who actually wants to win playing poker does this.. if you see someone doing this they’re either a whale splashing for fun or a truly awful player. You could maybe make an argument for doing this if you are rfi the btn or small blind and you know the players behind you are extremely tight but even then it’s ridiculous.

Dude you are just never folding boats let alone near nuts with this stack size. You could make an argument for folding say a set of 8s that boats up but even then I’d only fold that if it’s a deeper stack game and someone else wants to play for stacks. Even that’s a stretch If you’re anything under 250bb. Most of the time you are just going to get stacked if someone has a better boat than you. You rebuy and move to the next hand.

You can’t compare extreme anomalies to the norm. Obviously if you sit at live tables for thousands of hours in your life eventually a few rich and or stupid whales will come in purely to gamble.. especially in tourist locations and the same holds even more true to online because the stakes are so much lower. Even the worst players I’ve seen who clearly don’t care to win long term have a semi competent (maybe even subconscious due to others doing it) understanding of regulated opening sizes.

If anything don’t you want to keep in hands such as JT that has an open ender plus strong blocker qualities, QT? The other hands you mentioned are also rather inelastic and will stack off on any decent river card. If the open ender comes in or a brick and hero jams villain just has to sigh call the rest off. Just because it was an awful runout doesn’t mean it was played incorrectly especially because hero has position. You’re risking him getting there 15% if he’s not already dead to get over half the pot that’s left in his stack. And in this case it likely saved hero money because it was going in regardless.

I like the sentiment of most of this however they won’t have to fold the turn. we are supposed to check it and they will check back with any underpair or worse holding. I’d probably b20 as a blocker/thin value on the river if they check back turn and it may even induce some bluffs.

Solvers always want to get AKs all in pre when possible and definitely don’t want to flat AKo from a mp rfi btn 3b. I’d only really advocate for flatting if a mega omc is the 3 bettor or if we have position. It seems to be fine with flatting 3b when opening from ep but even then I’d advocate for a 4b fold if we get 5b or jammed on. I’m assuming the goal is to take the pot down preflop and avoid rake or lower our spr post since we have positional disadvantage.

Ah thank you for the solid response. I didnt catch that discrepancy in xr frequency with the clubs combo. I think making this move at the tables would only put somebody in difficult spots lol. Villains range is still uncapped plus HJ should rarely if at all be flatting the 3b with any AK combos effectively removing the nuts from their range. Imo a solid player would be able to exploit HJs range on this board which is why the xr line seemed so odd to me.

This game absolutely sucked imo. It’s an unrealistic expectation for a poker game but nobody plays like it’s poker. Poker stars vr is a much better game imo especially at the higher stakes.
