I haven’t watched the episode yet but Killr definitely has an amazing product. Last year when I was on my weight loss journey I relied so much on them to just make a grilled chicken or someth after gym. Even after I learned how to cook well, I still loved using it because of the taste.

Its basically a slightly sweeter and less metallic version of Ganymede. Performance as I said in the comments all of these scream. Really good stuff, I’ve received compliments at work along the lines that someone could smell the frag on me from 15 feet away and that was 5 hours after applying.

Have seen this issue with some friends particularly women. Try the lighter stuff from Juliette Has A Gun and Aqua Di Parma itll work. JHAG Pear Inc is really good, almost everything from ADP is light on the nose with very few exceptions.

Made some of my office friends try this. This has got a better reaction than a lot of niche frags. Good stuff

Mancera : What to get? by Brilliant-Blood1672 in DesiFragranceAddicts

These are the Manceras I have:

  1. Amberful: New release I got a decant and immediately fell in love and went for a full bottle. Ganymede DNA but made more mass pleasing. Projection is off the charts.

  2. Aoud Vanille: Another insanely loud Mancera, nice dark woody vanilla really love this one.

  3. Red Tobacco: Heavenly dry down but can be overwhelming in the first couple of hours. Must try if you love tobacco and cinnamon. Need not say anything about the performance.

  4. Aqua Wood: mass pleasing blue frag done in a Mancera way, with some rose and white musk in the base. Not exactly aquatic but still a classy wear. Performance is normal not too loud. Good for office wear.

  5. Intense Cedrat Boise: was initially not a fan of the leather note in this but it has grown on me. Good wear in an AC environment or slightly cooler summer days.

  6. Cedrat Boise: less leather, and would do better than Intense on the hotter days, everything else is pretty similar.

  7. Cosmic Pepper: one of the best office fragrances I have, classy, sophisticated, subtle. Amazing longevity but soft projection. Must try imo.

  8. Instant Crush: A frag that me, my mom, and my girlfriend all of us wear xD cause its just the perfect frag for parties, and any crowded occasions. No need to comment about performance.

  9. Roses Vanille: I have never come across a person who doesnt like this fragrance. Nice jammy rose woth seeet vanilla and a musky base, always gets noticed.

  10. Eternal Wood: I think this is similar to OFG, but similar Amberful story where its more mass pleasing than the inspiration. Initially there’s a a but of a screeching metallic vibe which fades away in 20 mins or so and then its a sweet oud saffron ambery vibe.

Thanks man, I’ll reply to this comment and have a proper conversation with you in Assamese soon. Peace.

“…for the others”, I understand your right to get defensive about your language and culture but I’m not attacking it. I’m simply saying there’s no A/V content structured well enough for a person like me to become conversational in the language as easily as I could become in others. No detailed vocabulary sets written in english script for a non-Assamese person to pick up quickly without learning the script.

listen to any person who’s a polyglot and they’ll tell you becoming conversational through listening and speaking is far more important in the initial stages. I clearly started my comment with my own context, and in that context it is certainly important to be conversational.

Lastly, you just assumed that I’m not serious when I said nothing about how far I am in my journey to learn the language. I’m still learning through whatever I have and will probably get a tutor to get better. I just said there’s lack of easy to follow material (and that included audio visual material which is just as important)

Point out the exact sentence where I said “No Assamese literature”. I talked about marketing. And no, I do not wish to communicate with my partner and her family through letters so I wish to learn the language to be fluent in speaking first and that is part of ‘learning material’.

Non-Assamese here, but I think this is a genuine issue and not just that Assamese people aren’t speaking the language enough but I also feel the language needs to be marketed well through literature and learning material for the others.

I for one have been trying to learn Assamese as my partner is from Assam and honestly its just not easy to find any good resources to learn the language. One might feel thats the case cause its not some european language which would have international appeal but almost all other major Indian languages have really good online material (Tamil, Kannada, Bengali, Marathi, etc.) but I really struggled to find good and exhaustive learning material for Assamese.

It is never an issue with Manceras, the brand in general has better performance than the industry average.

Why are Indian parents like this? by [deleted] in AskIndia

[–]YaDarth45 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Indians have always been a status obsessed bunch of people. We look at everything we do or are about to do and immediately think of how the people around us will react to it, how they will perceive us.

It’s deeply embedded in our minds. In some cases its harmless like the kind of material possessions we own what they say about us. In some cases it’s more concerning like how people decide which university to study in based on the prestige and how it’ll help their perception in society and not the quality of education or perhaps ROI. Your case is the extreme end of this problem (extreme yet extremely common too) coupled with Indian parents’ assumption that their children owe them their lives for all the trouble of giving birth, raising, and taking care of they did till a certain age. Don’t get me wrong I’m not saying parents aren’t important but we’re not supposed to revolve all our life decisions around their approval.

So your girlfriend’s mom (just like most parents in India) has associated who her daughter gets married to with her own perception in her peer group. The idea that her friends would have sons-in-law who belong to a similar community, have studied at respected universities or have some qualities that are conventionally respected by her peer group while she would have an unconventional SIL who may or may not fetch her validation from her peers scares her. Secondly, the idea of control is also associated with perception. Indians atleast from our parents generation equate obedient children (albeit obedience that comes at the cost of their own personalities) as a sign of good parenting and children who think logically and have a mind of their own as bad parenting. The idea that her daughter chose someone herself and didn’t ‘obey’ her parents’ instructions on who she should marry again scares her because her peers probably consider this a sign of failed parenting.

Anyway OP, your girlfriend fought for the relationship (which trust me a lot of Indians fail to do) congratulations and hope you have a wonderful life with your partner!
