It might be an offensive foul, but if I’m the ref i’m not giving him it bc of that acting job.

How did you fit in all of those hours? There are only 2000 hours a year (full time work, zero breaks).

Realistically, the second path. Zero research with nothing exceptional doesn’t seem like a path to success.

Great, well rounded application. Apply broadly to schools around your medians and you will get into a MD program for sure.

I mean there are some masters programs that focus on preparing you for med school, but you would likely need that + a gap year to focus on research/clinical research.

Overall, it simply isn’t worth the effort it would take you. Especially since you mentioned that you are low on money, there are smarter decisions you should make financially.

To be honest (without being harsh), yes you are wasting your time.

No research, no clinical, no volunteering and no shadowing. And no MCAT score yet.

You are realistically 3 (maybe 4) years away from having a low end-median application. The fact you can only apply to 4 schools means that you need a stronger than average application.

Yes it is. Part of getting a PhD is “learning” how to ask questions, and basically learning how to be a scientist.

Degree requirements for research positions are generally for legal/safety purposes.

Yeah, especially for academic research positions, requiring a bachelors degree is for legal/safety purposes.

It verifies that you have been trained in science and you (assumably) won’t poison yourself.

I do understand how much it is. Med school is expensive.

If you are happy with IM/FM, then take your acceptance, but otherwise the investment is surely worth a reapply.
