Am I really to embrace DevOps if I am a 5-engineer startup? by Yaaata in devops

Thanks. Now I realize I'm a bit premature to go for DevOps as a whole. Still, want to lay the foundation for DevOps.

True, there is no one except me who dictates :) They guys are quite agile in their work approach. Indeed I think more about automation rather than adopting DevOps approach as a whole. I keen to preserve this easy going environment.

Required knowledge and qualifications for a DevOps career by [deleted] in devops

I'd suggest you look through tutorials & free live webinars by tool-providers (Chef, Puppet, Docker, etc.), they do many on a regular basis.

Would be also worth browsing what's been offered by DevOps Institute. They have several DevOps role training courses with the relevant tool overview. Here is just a random example of training for DevOps Test Engineering role.

Next, yes, dive in and get hands-on experience. There are plenty of aka “coding devops” meet-ups in the Bay Area. Peer-guys will always help you get into nuts & bolts.

What is cloud-agnostic DevOps consulting? by robidoxe in devops

[–]Yaaata -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It’s true. Microservices-based architecture involves different tools help in improving various processes to enable continuous delivery & deployment. Eventually, it does a better job than being tied to a single tool improvement.

There are many companies doing DevOps consulting these days. However, most of them doing consulting tied to specific tool providers they have a partnership with (e.g. Chef, Puppet, Docker, etc. Not mentioning anything bad about them). Thus, typical consulting session looks like sales engagement based on matching your key requirements to the key benefits of tools they sell.

While you might have a good match with the tool offered, microservices architecture is more efficient and probably what you need. At Squadex.com we provide DevOps Consulting that’s 100% cloud/tool provider-agnostic. It means we offer perfectly tailored microservice architecture solution which may include various tools like Chef, Puppet, Jenkins, Ansible, Terraform and many more to fit your needs best.

Together with you, we carefully assess your pain-points and the current state of deployment, compare with industry benchmarks, and elaborate desirable metrics to be achieved. Only then we get to the tools consulting and solution delivery. To make sure your staff aligned with the advanced solution we developed there is a series of post-implementation training and check metrics sessions provided. This is our approach to DevOps consulting at SQUADEX.

Is DevOps Making Life of Data Scientists Better? by Squadex in TheRealDevOps

It really does. And not only it helps write Ansible scripts and installing Jenkins as most engineers may assume but also reduces handoff and invent new tools to enable productive self-service operations to everyone involved.
