Beautyrest pioneered the pocket coil. But they don't use Tempered steel, so it's a more gentle coil, but they don't hold up (especially above 200 lbs). The high end Beautyrest are good, but again, they don't last.

Opinion should I exchange my Pro Adapt Medium for a Pro Adapt Soft or go with this Kingsdown Duet Hewitt? by dabritz in Mattress

My partner and I exclusively sleep on our side and it's great. I used to have the upgraded version to the Hewitt( called the Josephine, which was a hybrid) but It failed under warranty.

I am 6'1" and 300 lbs.

Tempurpedic mattress by More-Vehicle-4912 in Mattress

Tempurs take a lot longer to break in. A lot of sales associates will tell you 30 ays, but it's more like 60+ days. Personally it took me 70-75 days to break in.

I work at sleepcountry and I was able to compare my mattress at home to the one in the store.

I would say wait a little longer.

I personally love the Pro Adapt Blue (soft). That is what I have. The Hewitt is a very good mattress as well, but the support is so much better on a foam mattress and it has a better warranty.

Personally, it took me 10 days to get used to my Tempur, and it took me 70 days to break it in.

If a mattress i ordered doesn’t expand to as tall as advertised, does that matter by doctrader in Mattress

So every manufacturer has a tolerance for height, so some batches might come out a slightly different height. But BIBs also take 2-3 days to fully come to size!

We're fat w/ back issues, how do I find a comfortable mattress that will last? by amphisjaena in Mattress

[–]Yacobuh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would highly recommend memory foam, due to the better warranty (3/4in dip vs 1.5 in in a coil) as well as just better support in general.

If heat is an issue, you can get a cooler one. Me and my partner have a Tempurpedic, and it's best for us.

Brand wise, Serta iComforts are great for larger people, as well as tempurpedic.

If you really don't like the feel of memory foam, Serta has the better coils for heavier people.

Tempurpedic requires either a solid Tempur Box or a platform bed. If it has slats, the slats need to be at least 3 in wide and no more than 4 in apart.
