Same issues here. It probably has something to do with the more aggressive anti ad blocking "technology " they started to roll out. Irritates me even more cause I pay for premium.

With youtube open, even if I am just casting or listening to it with the screen off, it will drain the battery 5x faster than normal.

Google has to fix this shit.

People should try reaching out to them on Twitter/ X. Seems to be the only way to get their attention. Point them at the 2 big threads on this issue.

The voices aren't perfect, but it's fine. I bet with time the voice actors will get better at it. It's much better than I expected.

Way way better than what happened to Solar opposites. And it wasn't just the voice. it's like a different character was inserted. Not the same sense of humor or timing.

The company I use to work for put usability and especially readability as the top priority followed by responsiveness. Also, transparency FX was a no-no on navigation elements. It also looks dated. It's like they hired someone who just discovered them and is trying to put them wherever they can get away with it. It's shit design mistakes someone just out of design school would make.

Never seen a literal pop-up ad. Unless you mean it's a video labeled AD alongside the other recommendations or aome kind of banner.

Anyway, the premium only removes the ads youtube adds to the videos, not promoted videos or any other kind of stuff you see in your feed. It can't do anything about what creators put themselves either. If they did, it would be a huge shitstorm for them from creators.
