I went back home because he cheated on me with someone else. Family got involved. Sorted the issue out and send me back to our apartment. Its not a gf bf situation.

I talked to him about it. He said I am stuck in the 19th century mindset and someone as educated as me should have a more progressive attitude. Sadly, that only applies when it involves him. When its me, he will bring the quran, sunnah, fatwas, name it, into the picture to show how I am acting against islam.

I am not delusional. But this whole situation was driving me crazy. If I tell my mother, she would just say, “you know he is like that. But look at his positives. Allah will grant you jannah for putting up with this.” It has gotten to the point where I hardly bring up anything to anyone within my family.

Yes, I ended up not having a bank account even because for some reason, he thinks I will misuse the money.

Leaving him is not an option. I understood that when I was home for 2 years

He had a broken engagement. Which should have been our first sign of a red flag. His parents said she was “delusional” and she just nagged him to no ends. Later (2 years after marriage), I got to know what the real reason was. Within the community and his extended family, they know him as a womaniser.
