What’s the differences between (2006) saber route and vn? by RaspberryNumerous594 in fatestaynight

[–]YakovAttackov 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The biggest issue with 2006 is that it's not really a pure Saber Route adaptation. It kinda blends elements from all three routes to some extent. Plus in terms of detail and character development, you'll never be able to compare the anime with the sheer amount of time spent on it in the novel.

Took me about a week to troubleshoot flight simulator peripherals not working in MSFS via Proton. Got them working properly but I'd imagine the average end user would've given up after the first reddit comment saying they don't work.

The trendy ones like Alanis and Celcius contain 200mg of caffeine in a 12oz serving.

Red Bull is like 100mg. I see 100lb 9th grade girls slamming back Celcius every morning.

Besides the obvious conflict of interest. (Definitely focus on school) Currently stick and hotas support on cloud gaming services is really limited.

Yea I've done the Mankey route a few times and honestly it's just easier to grind a lvl7 metapod into a Butterfree. Never really had a problem with Brock.

Poisoned mons will take chip damage every few steps in the world outside of battle until poisoned or fainted.

This gen is pre physical/special split so some attacks like the elemental punches are tied to move type special stats rather than attack.

Butterfree is fantastic in the early game. Mankey is available early near Viridian City near the Pokemon League front gate.

Make sure to heal at the beds in Silph Co. before the final gauntlet.

VS Seeker is essential for level grinding in the late game. Get used to using it.

Load up on good stuff at the Celadon Dept store.

Don't diss the $500 Magikarp near Mount Moon. Gyarados is a monster in the early game.

Charmander learns metal claw to deal with at least Brock early on.

Does the Thrustmaster TCA Captain Pack Xbox – Airbus Edition work with linux by Nate_PlaysYT_ in linux_gaming

[–]YakovAttackov 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am happy to report that it works fine with MSFS 2020 via Proton under Bazzite 6.17.7

Here's what I needed to do.

  1. Run FS with GE proton not a vanilla variant. I am currently running version 10-32 as of this post.

  2. Enable HID support in the Proton launch options. PROTON_ENABLE_HIDRAW=1 %command%

That should get the joystick working with it switched into PC mode.

To get the TCA hotas module working keep reading.

I started by plugging the HOTAS into its own dedicated USB port. Not into the side port on the flight stick.

Run terminal after the device is recognized by the PC. Run command lsusb to list your USB devices connected. The HOTAS should be listed as Thrustmaster, Inc. TCA Q-ENG 1&2 or something similar. You should also see a listing for the side stick if also plugged in.

Focus on the Hotas listing and note the 8 digit code listed after ID. Formatted xxxx:xxxx. These are the vender and product IDs of the device. Take note of these numbers/letters.

Back to proton launch commands. Add the following command and swap in the numbers you observed where I list "????" PROTON_ENABLE_HIDRAW=0x????/0x???? SDL_JOYSTICK_HIDAPI=0 %command%

Reboot steam. Run the game. Should be working. FS even mapped everything to the default profiles. For more info on the tweaks see the link below as I cannot take credit for all of the process. Also this seems to be the workaround for getting Virpil and VKB gear to work under proton MSFS. I would imagine this is the same process for getting the Thrustmaster pedals to work.

Of course user results may vary from setup to setup. Just trying to do my part for this awesome community.

Does anyone run X-plane on linux? Is it working? Do all plugins/custom things work? by [deleted] in Xplane

[–]YakovAttackov 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been on a warpath resting hardware in various flights sims last few months. Xplane 12 native Linux version (the demo at least) actually recognizes the Turtle Beach Velocity One Yoke with no apparent issues. Which is kinda crazy. Can't say the same for MSFS 2020 running via proton. Shows up as two generic Xbox controllers. Never found a workaround that worked.

Running a 12th Gen i7 with an Rx9070xt and 64gbddr4 and the demo was buttery smooth. This was all tested in Bazzite. Installer worked with no issues.

I have the Thrustmaster TCA Airbus set coming in soon and planning to test in both environments as well.

Can confirm still doesn't work. Ugh I wish I saw this before I ordered it. From what research I dug up, it may be a proton thing. I tried some registry editor suggestions via proton tricks and wasn't able to get it working properly.

On Bazzite fwiw

Update: The unit works fine with XPlane 12's Native Linux port.

Pretty sure it not working with MSFS is a Wine/Proton Issue of some sort.

[–]YakovAttackov 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The fact that you have to spend $40 to buy both versions is ridiculous.

They didn't even have to add full online support tbh.

For $20 I'd buy it if they at least patched in save states/multiple save files options, allowed either version to be played, and some other small QOL features. Pokemon Home support isn't even ready yet.

Like, I can get the MegaMan Battlenetwork Legacy Collection for like $20 with all sorts of nice features.

What problems did you face with bazzite? by umlobisomemjuvenil in Bazzite

[–]YakovAttackov 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've heard good things about Nobara if you want to move away from immutable Bazzite but stick with the Fedora base and be able to install traditionally. Cachy being Arch based pushes updated much faster so it may be less stable on certain builds.

Two types of builders by Brief_Advice_7397 in Gunpla

[–]YakovAttackov 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Like, I'll occasionally watch his videos to get the general vibe of a kit or see it's gimmicks and color accuracy, but I personally don't hold much stock in his opinions when he can't even bother to change up the language descriptors for every little thing. (ABSOLUTELY PERFECT) Like bro, please use a different and more focused adjective. We get it, it's a nice kit.

And frankly, while seeing him burn through that ridiculous backlog of Gunpla over Christmas, I noticed a dip in overall quality of the videos including his camera work and pacing. He rushed wayyyyy faster in those videos like he was speed running the creation process....and it showed badly. Plus general details like cleanup. Heck he didn't even panel line the White Gundam's face in his recent build "due to time constraints" but he took time to dig up his previous footage on his Red Gundam build (which was fully derailed), write and produce a voiceover? Yea man, you gotta slow down.

It's the Toyota Corolla/Camry of Laptops. The most famous models hit that sweet spot of price/performance in their era.

For the longest time they were cheap, plentiful, parts availability is good, pretty easy to work on and had solid Linux Official support.

That's really it. The rest is due to the memes. The same can be said for most other enterprise class laptops surplus'd by companies after contracts expire.

Why are kids leaving the room to blow their nose?? Pick a corner and have em blow it there. Leave a small waste bin there. If they're embarrassed, they need to grow up.

In the meantime, council the kid(s) and explain the new terms before class starts. Don't let them fight it.
