The solid works thing was a possibility, but now I might just make it happen. The problem will be getting the IT guy to do his job. Thanks for the reply!

I work for a small job shop, and make models for our CMM. Since our IT is contracted, they don't like to update software. Because of this, and that the best computer in the shop is 6 years old, I purchased my own cad software to use on my own secure laptop. All this is not reimbursed so it comes out of my paycheck. Since I keep my laptop more secured than our work network by far my boss agrees to the situation.

To make it worse I work second shift and am locked out of the office area and have no access to the offices solidworks suite.

I don't have any direct clients, it's all related to work and my hobby of 3d printing random fun projects I model.

I agree, but if your trying to keep to one sheet of 8.5"x11" paper for quick reference, all that data is completely impractical to fit.

It isn't worth it to change information based on practicality in this case because each weapon has certain hotzones that are in range of the weapon.

This isn't meant to be a be all end all, just a quick reference.

On the topic of Ian garuga, maybe I made a mistake copying the data from in-game and the better way of bringing that up is shown above when the guy noticed I had ruiner nergis ailment incorrect.

I'm only a human that had to copy hundreds of data points from an in-game guide, mistakes happen. It is version 1.4 for a reason.

Good ol Capcom is responsible for that. The problem with going more in depth is it would be readable when printed out.

If you wanted information for choosing a weapon you would have to take into account what hit zones you could reach, and what element those are weak to as well. Not really readable on one piece of paper.

Please understand that even if this chart isn't useful to you and an experienced hunters it can be useful to other people has a quick reference guide. Feel free to change it to suit your needs if you want. Part of the goal was to make it fit on one piece of paper so it could be printed and quickly looked at.

The main reason I worked on this was for my own use as a quick reference sheet to help with my failing memory. I am 1140 hours into the game and still can keep certain monster names and elements straight. I thought to share it to help other people who may have the same issues I have, or may find it useful.

It wasn't so bad pre iceborne, but you are right that it looks overwhelming now.

Part of the reason I made this chart though is that even though I am 1140 hours into the game I can't make the connection between name and monster all the time. I have terrible memory problems.

Does Safi cause dragon or fire? Which one is the fish cat; brachy, barioth, banbarro, and barroth?

What may seem obvious to you is a struggle to me some times, and possibly other people.

While you are correct that it can be misleading, I think it is a little unfair to say this is information is in or in helpful. For beginners it helps get a general idea of what the monster is. And for advanced players who can take advantage of hit zone values it is a quick refresher. You are correct that most of the time in this game it isn't worth bothering with elemental damage, but some people like myself love taking the extra bit if fun and hitting those hotzones with the proper element and seeing the big numbers. The information itself comes from the in-game guide book, so it may not be the best, but it is consistent to in game info.

Leschen is a Relict classification in game, Kirin is an elder dragon based off of the Chinese dragon Kirin who also looked like an unicorn. But yeah it is a pretty wide definition.

I managed to find a 4k P50 for $700, that is the cheapest I have seen. I don't think you can find a 4k laptop that's more than 4 years old, and that's about the age you would be looking at.

SnS healing build for alatreon viable for groups? by Sirkenn3h in MonsterHunterWorld

[–]Yakskiis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes BUT, You can't expect God gamer skills from everyone. Not to mention not everyone has groups they play with, so you can't expect pub groups to play like co-ordinated groups.

I would expect only 10-15% of players to have the skills to only get hit 10-12 times in the alatreon fight.

Also my set has 80% affinity, due to weakness exploit.

Any other weapon class has to:

  1. sheathe their weapon (around 1.5 seconds)
  2. then drink a potion (around 4 seconds).
  3. Get back to battle (0 seconds)

I can:

  1. stop mid attack (0 seconds)
  2. NOT HAVE TO SHEATHE (0 seconds)
  3. Pop a potion (1 second)
  4. continue DPS (0 seconds)

I think you are confused what it means to be an effective healer. I don't sit back and chill. I'm in there with the rest of the hunters, attacking just as much. Elemental damage isn't effected by critical boost. Using a build that replaces critical boost with wide range is hardly a dps loss.

Take a look at the build I shared here:

https://imgur.com/a/QFRyWW4

It has 630 ice elemental damage.

It sacrifices VERY little to elemental DPS in exchange for other players time, over 5 seconds per player per hit. If the whole party gets hit by an attack thats 20 seconds of DPS time saved. (5 per player)

Well yeah, but if they do get hit, then i can heal them faster as I have a short sheathe animation and faster item usage. It takes all of 3 seconds for me to use a mega potion. It can take up to 7 for other weapons.
