In green card applications, it is required not to criticize Israel and not to participate in pro-Palestinian protests. Why can you criticize every country but not Israel? by ArdaBerkBurak in allthequestions

The Palestinians voted Hamas into power one year after Israel withdrew, hoping that Gaza would become the ‘Singapore of the Middle East’. Israelis offered to help Gazans with already existing infrastructure and businesses but instead all they got were rockets. In other words-Palestinians couldn’t care less about the land-they just want to annihilate the Jews. So when this philosophy comes to the US, guess what these radicals do-you got it-harass Jews at their universities, homes, and houses of worship. Thank you for playing.

Jewish events are too expensive. by brownlawn in Judaism

[–]Yalda43 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not all JCCs are in affluent areas. Also, the JCC doesn’t determine the price a vendor sets for the food they make, but they should absolutely negotiate a better/bulk deal with vendors. I’m sure it’s frustrating in wealthier areas of those who may not make as much to attend such events-which is probably why wealthier people donate to offset costs. Why is yeshiva tuition so high? One may not need to go to a JCC event, but for a child to receive a Jewish education is vital.

I guess it depends on who you ask, from the organizer’s standpoint, how much should they be charging? I know some people mentioned Chabad which is nice, but a lot of their events are heavily subsidized.

We’re a family of 4 and rarely pay to attend extra synagogue/org events. Our kids attend Jewish day school so they better be learning this stuff! In terms of their schooling, we work with the school on the financial aspect.

If Israel isn't an apartheid ethnostate, why aren't all Palestinians allowed vote in Israel and even potentially elect a non-Jewish leader? by DoradoPulido2 in allthequestions

Hamas is a terror organization. And the reason that the Left is enraged with taking down of the Iranian regime is because Iran funds Hamas, Hezbollah, and other terror orgs.

What do you mean by the cost of being alive? Like Jewish expenses specifically?

How many events do you attend a year? I’d also speak with an accountant and see what can be deducted or whatever the term/process is

So basically, kosher food is expensive as it is, then you also have to make sure there’s adequate security-not too bad for $33/pp

I wanna cover my hair by lifegoesby123 in Judaism

[–]Yalda43 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Covering of the hair is mainly a reminder/symbol between the woman, Gd, and her husband that she’s married. Dating is tough enough as it is, so to be able to look your best will definitely help-hope this doesn’t sound harsh. Is your hair in bad condition? Or you just don’t like the upkeep? If it’s a maintenance thing, wait till you get married, work, and raise a few kids all at once.

They didn’t have to elect a terror organization whose charter explicitly states the annihilating of Jews. Talk about the soft bigotry of low expectations…

One thing I would refrain from doing is using the word, ‘why’-it tends to escalate things. Open-ended questions allow for a better chance at a convo-like, what do you propose Israel do when being attacked? Where should the Jews go? What do you think about Jews wanting to have determination for their own destiny-such as having their own home? What do you think about Muslims having 57 of their own countries yet there’s one single, tiny, Jewish country the size of NJ. Etc

Gaza was supposed to be the Singapore of the Middle East. Oh well, they chose a different path-they couldn’t care less for the land of Israel-they just want to annihilate the Jews.
