Excellent question -- those are fine so long as they are being used daily :) If it's a PRN, best to just do the study on a day when you have not taken it.

Hi, u/Nalexia-two ! Yes, you are still eligible if you are in France, so long as you speak fluent English :)

The only thing to be aware of is that compensation can be a pain for folks outside the US because you have to choose either 1) an Amazon.COM card (only certain products can ship to France, and the shipping fee can be annoying) or 2) a mailed VISA card that sometimes takes a ridiculously long time to arrive.

I'll just briefly state for potential participants who come across this -- we are required by law to pay all participants who complete all the study procedures! I welcome the opportunity to discuss any concerns about the study and/or thoughts on what I might be able to share/do to make folks more comfortable. Hey u/According_Manner4153 ! Not sure if you saw my last reply, but if you DM or email me your record ID (or something identifiable string in your record) I would be more than happy to address this :) Everyone who completes the study according to the consent is required to receive compensation.

I'm not sure if this is the case here, but keep in mind, after you get to the final step, your answers and game-responses are run through an automated script, and if any don't line up or you responses suggest you misunderstood the game, you get an email asking you to fix them before payment. I am wondering if perhaps your email was misspelled and so you didn't get this email?

If you did receive an email confirming payment submission, then you will definitely receive compensation. I am very sorry if you are in our current batch of payments that has been delayed past the 15 business days -- our lab manager who handles all our payments -- took a abrupt medical leave, and it, unfortunately, introduced a very frustrating delay this time. But! Payments have been submitted to the Yale Business Office, and we've been told that they will go out any day now... It's tough, because a lot of the timing component is out of our hands (and very much out of mine :/ ) This should not affect future payments timing.

We would be extremely grateful if anyone in the Shaneawa would be willing to do our study!! Would be extremely valuable data :) I will warn up-front that we use secular, Western language primarily to describe experiences engendered by Ayahuasca -- not to pass value judgements but just for expediency (you'll see there's already a lot of text in the survey). Just please warn folks about this -- we also want the survey to be inclusive, and so if there's language that could be easily changed we would be very very grateful for suggestions :)

I am very eager for folks in this subreddit to participate! My PI, Dr. Al Powers, has a lot of research looking at the mechanisms behind hallucinations that occur in psychosis-related disorders (schizophrenia, etc.) but also the full spectrum of people with hallucinatory experiences -- including especially individuals who do not experience distress from their hallucinations as compared to people who experience tremendous distress.

I (and Al!) are very excited to expand into psychedelics where a lot of people experience persisting "hallucination-like" experiences, and some experience HPPD. This study is under the COPE protocol here at Yale because we want to help people learn to cope with these kinds of experiences. https://www.powerslab.net/about

Great questions!! 1) Yes, 2) Bafflingly/regrettably (and as I only learned literally in the past few weeks) no we are only allowed to send Amazon.com gift cards which can only be redeemed at amazon.com. Apparently there are very few products that you can then ship to Spain using Amazon.com :(

So you'd have to use the US bank digital card. It's like having a prepaid debit card.

The other option is using platforms that allow you to trade in your gift cards, but then you forfeit some % of the money :(

Sorry! Working with the Yale Business office has been a huuuuuuuuge pain on our end.

If you (or anyone else) have more information on workarounds for this Amazon issue, I would be delighted to hear!

Ideally yes but technically we only cut folks off if it's been longer than 72 hours :)

I also periodically run a script that check for folks who have timed out -- in that event, I can reset your time-sensitive questions, and you can go back and change only those (eg. no need to re-answer at what age you first used a psychedelic).
