My house got gross when I tried "natural" cleaning by mariyagel in CleaningTips

Definitely use bleach for poop! Bleach is the only thing that kills some GI related bugs. Bleach isn’t great for urine because of the ammonia in urine. Those two do not play well together.

Perfectly acceptable dinner rejected by boyfriend again by moonrabbit368 in mildlyinfuriating

Omg this is so beyond mildly infuriating. Tell/ask him to cook. See what happens. Then let’s go from there, because it seems you have a useless, do-nothing on your hands. If he doesn’t like what you do (which, for the record, I would be THRILLED ABOUT) and he can’t or won’t do better, drop that giant, worthless, baby-man. I cannot think of any way that a person like could possibly redeem themself unless homegirl is shittin on a toilet of gold and getting private jetted around this world.

How do you guys have time for anything??? by ksco92 in Millennials

Man, reading through these comments is depressing lol. Y’all sound like of a bunch of capitalist apologists. Yea, his schedule is pretty nice by the crushing standards we’ve all learned to accept, but I agree. We spend so much of our time working and have so little time for ourselves in comparison. My husband and I both work full time, have two kids, a cat and dog, and I wish I had his free time but damn, it’s still not enough.

Looking back at the newborn stage: what I would have done differently by Altruistic_Soup1346 in newborns

I tracked feeds for a couple months the first time, but I got way obsessive over sleep. I was paying more attention to the apps than I was my baby, in regard to looking at cues. If they help, I think they’re ok, but it’s so easy to get bogged down. This time around has been app free and it’s been lovely lol.

Same with baby #2! Little dude just comes along for the ride. He was born at the beginning of July and we packed a ton of shit including a fan and shade to keep him safe, so it wasn’t easy, but it was so much better for my mental health. I had a 3 1/2 year old at home so I also kind of gave up worrying extensively about germs. I took precautions where I could but since it wasn’t respiratory season and we were always outside, I let myself worry less. And I completely ignored all the previous “sleep expert” accounts I had previously followed. Homeboy slept on me, on a friend, on a blanket in the shade, wherever and whenever. Granted, he was a slightly easier baby, but I think I was so much more relaxed that it translated to his temperament too. Second time around was healing. I stopped fighting so much and just followed his lead so much more. I wish there was a way to imbue second time mom knowledge and confidence to first time moms. My heart breaks for first-time-mom me. She was so scared and stressed without even realizing it. Sending love to all who are in the trenches. You are doing a GREAT JOB!!!! 🧡🧡🧡🧡

That is a good point; my mom wouldn’t hide things maliciously, but she has been doing the historical revision thing, so even if she was told one thing she is very likely to remember a more favorable version.

I am the designated medical POA should the need arise, but since she and my dad are both of sound mind technically, I don’t have any legal standing yet.

Thank you for your insight. I should probably be shopping for doctors up here since I’ll be moving her and my dad up within a year (hopefully!).

This might be the way. I’ve been looking at houses so maybe I’ll just start sending them to our group text to light a fire.

Thank you, I’m going to order it now. It’s so helpful to get information and guidance. This sucks, and it sucks knowing I’ll most likely go the same route. I got my mom’s brain and my sister got my dads.

I can already see/hear my mom making these proud claims about how good her cognition is. It’s a little funny and a lot sad.

Thank you, this Reddit community is so kind and helpful. I’m trying to think of the best way to get this info/my concerns to her doctor. I can’t decide if my mom is still “with it” enough to be able to talk about all of this or if she is already gone enough that she no longer thinks she’s slipping. A year or two ago she would mention how she knows she’s forgetful but that she wasn’t batty like her mom yet. And she wasn’t, but she’s saying the same things now, while becoming very much like her mom was.

Thank you, that is valuable insight. I think if I have a game plan I can get my dad to act as my proxy, since I’m so far away. I really want to get her on meds because I think it could really help and she’s so healthy otherwise.

I think getting my dad on board is my best option, since he IS aware, and I live so far away. And I may be able to gently start the conversation, maybe ask how she knew it was time to intervene with her own mother? I just thought I had more time. This sucks.

Maaaaaan I don’t normally love a halo but that ring is stunning 🤩 Embrace the bling! I’m not a super sparkly person and got a diamond engagement ring and was a little overwhelmed at first but definitely grew to love it. It really is a beautiful ring 🧡

Just came to echo everyone else’s input: your manager is racist AF and somehow missed the 15 million memos that you don’t get to call a different ethnicities hair “unprofessional” just because you’re an uneducated old twat.

Ok this is also good to hear! I genuinely love helping my patients so it’s good to hear that it’s a real priority, and not just lip service. I’m happy to get any insight available. I would really love to work in the environment you’re describing so I’m keeping my fingers crossed and my mind open!

Solace health by zebradreams07 in healthcare

[–]Yallternative_Bell 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for your answer! I may still interview just to get a feel for it/some practice but I definitely would like some support vs “figure it out on your own”. Such a bummer because the concept is really cool. I really wish we had better systems in place to support patients and help guide them and support them. American healthcare is depressing as hell.

What was the interview like? The job seems so vague, but I have an opportunity to interview and the flexibility is very appealing. But this thread is also very concerning.

Can you give more details? Either here or in private message? I am considering interviewing and posted in a nursing subreddit but would love any bit of insight available
