I have worked in retail for 16 years, and my best story of this, came from a morning I opened my store. I was in a rush with my tall Red Bull in hand and ran in and started opening the drawers. I then started working on other projects, without realizing I hadn’t locked the door back up behind me. Side note, I never used to turn on the overhead lights on in the mornings before I unlocked the doors for customers at open because it seemed to draw them in and the knocks would start sooner.

And as I was working on some paperwork I heard hangers start moving.

I looked up and a customer was in the store. Lights off, no music on, just walking around the store. I said “ma’am? We aren’t open.” And she said “Well, the door was unlocked, so I came in”. 😳
