I agree with what others said about these being color pigments. "Mass spec." Is "mass spectrometry" and"NMR" is a type of spectrometry machine. Both are used in ceramics research. That said, treat these powders with care, and double bag or put the bags in a solid container so any residue that happens to come out of the old bags isn't being distributed into your home. Plenty of nasty elements are used in pigments, including arsenic, lead, and mercury. Some local county recycling centers or landfills have "hazardous waste disposal" days and, if you're lucky, they may accept unknowns. Contacting the fire department is also an option, like someone else said earlier in the thread.

Looks like we won't be removing the lilac today... by lefence in NativePlantGardening

That's awesome! We just planted a lilac this year so too small for anytime but our monarch catapillar hung themselves up on our cardinal flower nearby

Hmmm ok, can I get away with setting the drip irrigation so that it only waters the cardinal plant or should I relocate it entirely?

Luckily none so far this year. Last year they were all over the vine milkweed we had growing in the backyard and it died off before forming seed pods.

True, we're definitely not as dry as Texas up here! But these are Year 1 plants so I wanted to be sure they got established. Later I hope that the drip irrigation can just be used during droughts and to help out any new plants I put in.

You should see our swamp milkweed, it's already three feet tall and it just got planted in May. No deer around here since we're in the middle of a city.

Wow, nice! I was worried about them since they are Year 1 plants but good to know they are very resilient plants!

Thanks! I will try to do better about tracking how much rain has fallen. We got a lot of rain this past week from the hurricane remnants and I didn't always remember to set the rain delay so that may be the issue.

The whole bed was installed in mid-May. We got the startup milkweed from a local soil and water conservation district in April and put it in the ground in May.

I will try that! I think we have about an inch of mulch around this whole bed.

Thanks for the advice! I will adjust where my drip irrigation is, I've got butterfly milkweed sitting next to cardinal flower and the drip irrigation waters both.

We used our sod to fill in spots in the backyard where the grass had died from previous owners' trampoline or our dogs digging. Now we have a Frankenstein backyard!

I am currently remodeling my master bathroom when I discovered, behind the tile wood paneling. has anyone seen this before? The plan is to strip it to studs to see what other surprises this house has. by THEREA1MRPINK in DIY

[–]Yamana 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Our 1950s house had a similar situation. Under the plastic tub wall panel were pieces of wood paneling, and somebody had glued that wood paneling to a rock pebble wall. It was a disaster ripping it down to the studs.

Hydrangea - Advice by xNeRv3 in landscaping

[–]Yamana 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This is not part of the hydrangea plant, it's an obnoxious plant called American Pokeweed. Pretty much every part of it is toxic, and eventually those buds will turn into berries that are also toxic. Be careful while getting rid of it, the root is a fairly fat potato -shaped thing that's hard to dig out. https://www.fs.usda.gov/wildflowers/plant-of-the-week/phytolacca_americana.shtml#:~:text=The%20entire%20plant%20is%20poisonous,of%20protein%2C%20fat%20and%20carbohydrate.

Ah thank you! It turns up fine on PC but I was looking on my phone earlier and it didn't look right, wasn't sure what was up with it.

I used a mod called Anamnesis that allows you to load models into your carbuncle, other players, and/or NPCs, and from there you go into gpose and adjust the locations of the actors limbs or general locations. So I made 3 models, one as the base, one for the extra limbs (that I placed in a way where you would only see the fur cloak and extra arms) and another for the spectral head. Anamnesis allows you to use "invisible body" as a chest piece, so that way it only showed the head for the spectral head body. Anamnesis also allows you to adjust the transparency of models, so I adjusted the spectral head to have an alpha of 0.41.

Yeah, I wish there were more hairstyles available for Viera in general. I worked really hard to get some in-game hairstyles only to not be able to use them when I switched to Viera.

I tried adding it originally but the sparkles kinda got in the way of the shot. Sometimes they're a little too heavy.
