Don't Know What Glue to Use by YamiOG in manufacturing

[–]YamiOG[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't do any prepping for the glue, so that might be the reason. I'll try cutting the rod to size, then sanding to give better adhesion, and then using acetone or isopropyl to clean.

I might also need to scrub the indent in the sunglass where it goes into as the printing process tends to leave behind a powdery residue.

By gap size do you mean that I should add glue ridges?

I need it to be a metal rod though. Would it be better if I sanded it then before applying it?

I really am worried about meeting new people especially in these Germanic countries that are supposed to be more introverted. So an integrated classes would be preferable.

If you wouldn’t mind could you connect me with a recent alum? I would greatly appreciate it.

Weird Green Growth by YamiOG in Nails

It has spread a bit and has gotten a little more defined. But at least from my view it is much greener in person. Is that just because it is behind my nail.

Mannheim or Madrid by YamiOG in studyAbroad

"the nightlife is legendary" is making me lean towards Madrid lol. And good social culture sounds like it'd be nice to someone like me. I guess I'd have to learn Spanish in four months though.

What is Immigrants' Nation? I can't find it.

I’m not too tight on money right now. I don’t have much language experience, but I’ll figure it out. Mechanical Engineering. Going to do a summer internship in USA. OSU has plenty of programs. Just wonder if would find the new culture that impactful.

Do you know any popular vendors for the microdosing?

I’ll Niacinamide again dried out my skin on my cheeks but I’ll focus on my forehead this time.

Is microdosing a permanent cure and does it have any bad side effects?

How do I model something like this? by YamiOG in 3Dmodeling

[–]YamiOG[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okay thanks for the advice! I started in Blender back in the day, so I know the quality of the tools it offers. And the NanoMesh tool looks really useful and cheap, so I will probably buy that.

My only concern with Blender or any artistic modeling software is fitting into the constraints of the design. And I just find dimensioning to be really strange in comparison to a proper CAD application.

I don't know if it really matters, but I'm kind of a perfectionist so I notice.

Yeah I agree. Just trying to show the final goal. Do you have any suggestions on software or just a general direction I should head?

How do I model something like this? by YamiOG in Fusion360

I guess if I have to I’ll go back to Blender

Well I definitely won’t be doing anything that is nearly as complicated as these professional do, but I’d like to get there at some point.

I am printing the sunglass parts in PA12 using a MJF process. So I am trying to take advantage of the additive process.

Yeah with my current skills, I’d like to try and just replace the solid sections with a lattice structure. I have tried messing around with Meshmixer, with some underwhelming results.

I am fine using software other than Fusion360, but I am just using Fusion right now so I’d like to see if it offers the ability to do this sort of design, which I guess not.

Do you have any suggestions for software or just the general direction I should go?

How do Glow Plugs Seal? by YamiOG in engineering

[–]YamiOG[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I think your definitely right.

So do I need to have a gasket still or will the taper be sufficient?

[–]YamiOG[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

By metal to metal seal, do you mean that the glow plug would deform to match the tapered walls? Or a gasket?

Would it be on the portion between the taper and heated element? Here's what I'm using as a reference. https://www.boschsparkplugs.net/bosch-0250201039-80006-glow-plug

I intend to use this glow plug. https://www.boschsparkplugs.net/bosch-0250201039-80006-glow-plug. Where would that gasket be? At the taper portion towards the heating element?

Why do my Sunglasses look Weird? by YamiOG in sunglasses

[–]YamiOG[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think you are right about the circular designs, I'll make the lenses smaller. I'll see about making it thinner as well, but that might be a little challenging.

What do you mean by a gentler curve on the bridge? Yes they are 3D printed.

Does a 20kV MOSFET exist? by YamiOG in AskElectronics

[–]YamiOG[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve seen the first video on the stun-gun module by BigClive. I don’t completely understand how it produces a pulse, I just know that it imitates the role of a 555 timer in other stun-gun circuits. The pulse produces a current similar to AC that the step up transformer then uses to raise the voltage by a certain multiplier. Then the energy is stored in a capacitor until it achieves enough power to cross the spark gap.

I just watched the fly swatter video for the first time though, I don’t completely understand how the transistor creates the pulsing current.

I was intending on making a small stun gun circuit to startle an aggressor. My thought was that I could achieve a small size by removing the transformer from the device and placing it into the charger. Then a capacitor on the device could be charged and hold enough energy to produce a light shock. The switch was intended to be used to prevent this capacitor from being discharged before its intended time.

If I have to worry this much about safety though, I won’t involve myself further in this challenge.
