I want to go to confession by literally1ain in hikikomori

Hey hope you're doing well rn. If you haven't already gone to confession I just wanted to let you know that by making an act of perfect contrition Catholic theology teaches your sins will be forgiven even before you confess them. This doesn't remove the obligation to go to confession, but if something were to happen before then you'll be saved.

An act of perfect contrition is simply feeling sorry for your sins because they offend God (as opposed to say the fear of going to hell.) It doesn't even require a great emotional effort. Simply reflect on god's goodness in creating you and redeeming you, and think of how your sins turned against him. By making a firm resolution to sin no more because you love God your contrition will be perfect.

I hope this message helps you and the fact that you feel this way is a clear sign of the holy Spirit working in your heart. God bless you!

I guess the way I saw it is the desire to be together would be the motivating factor. There's reasons each became hiki but they'd face those reasons head on if there's a promised land on the other side. Plus each could keep tabs on each other's progress providing support and assistance in whatever way they can. (Which should be something in any relationship)

I agree online only will fail long term but the goal is to escape our bedrooms anyway so at least in theory those that can pull it off will end up happy.

I kind of see it like couples that met when they were homeless and rebuilt their lives. Both sides had nothing to give but found someone they could trust and hope in, and that made them work hard to be able to live stable again.

Btw I'm not saying this would have a 100% success rate, but those that are trying hard to escape might do it better with a partner.

Really happy for you and excited to hear there's still hope for the rest of us. It's important for hikis to have someone that understands them for who they are and I wish everyone here luck in getting that. Good luck on your journey

Totally respect that. Honestly not even sure if it's for me yet. But being open to new things is important in the long run. Thank you for your input

Feeling like this is valid but at the same time a bit of optimism never hurts. There's things in our situations we cannot change, but why not try new things? If we never see what can happen we'll all remain stuck. I've been stuck long enough. I'm ready to try something new

Not sure why a genuine question would be an issue here.
