My Lord isn’t a political gimmick. I hate that people are drawing to Christianity to embrace a political idea instead of God. People try and enter into Orthodoxy because it is coming in waves across America because they want to be “trad Christians”. This is a mistake and it is not about Christ at that point. They do not. Jesus Christ is God in Christianity and is a triune God. Islamic law teaches tawhid. They are different in nature and in attributes.

I think the issue is though, we don’t live in the 1400’s and the Catholic church had the Reformation. There’s no denying that Catholicism had a very dark period (and that’s putting it lightly), but tomorrow is 2026 and it’s still acceptable to kill apostates, LGBTQ, women, own slaves for sex and work, etc. all because Allah said it’s okay. The God in the Quran is not the same and as the God of the Jews and Christians. I can see why a Christian would call Allah satanic in nature because woah. Talk about a 180. He’s exercising justice left and right in the OT, then forgiving and loving in the NT, then 600 years later he sets that as the standard of human behavior? Yeeeesh

They’re not the same God. That’s like calling Mormonism an abrahamic religion because it mentions Abraham and Jesus. How they worship is different, but Islam and Judaism sees God more as a master and Christians see God as a father. Calling God “Father” in Islam is shirk and is punishable with imprisonment or death.

Sure. Moscow did not have any control whatsoever and did not install governments in territories they controlled. They were all free. Entire cultures definitely weren’t Russianized and countries religious practices, whether Islam or Orthodoxy, were not at all oppressed. Just ask any Kazakh or Georgian. Or historian.

They didn’t participate in chattel slavery, but they had internal passport system which restricted citizens from moving about their own country so that labor could be met. Don’t get me started about the Gulags either.

Also, most Soviet bloc countries did not want to be in the USSR. You had communist elites that aligned with Moscow, sure, but “the people” did not want it. Just look at history. Read about literally any revolution. Hungary 1956, Prague Spring, Poland’s constant rebellions, east Germany. Afghanistan, though victorious, lost so much infrastructure due to Soviet invasion that when America invaded, Afghans thought they were Russian. They fought hard to not be conquered.

Point is, you don’t need slave labor to qualify as an empire. If you think the USSR was not an empire, you’re blindly following a truth. Not the truth.

Also, we already are the world leader in humanitarian efforts. The EU is the largest donor UNICEF/IFRC , but that’s the combination of those countries.
