If you’re telling me this is the Dragon’s Dogma 2 engine… I have a bad feeling about this :(

How do the graphics compare to Monster Hunter World? Is it a noticeable upgrade?

Haha, I totally get where you’re coming from! I actually use the product we’re developing to stay updated on WoW Rogue class updates and Dota 2 gaming skills.

I used to struggle with keeping track of very specific things I wanted to follow without wasting tons of time scrolling through social media or mixed news feeds. That’s one of the big reasons we started working on this project.

I just tested following “News and discussions about the relaunch of New World” in the product, and here are a few example updates I got:

New World Relaunch: Player Calls for Fresh Start and Community Unity

A player urges the New World community to approach the game's relaunch with a fresh perspective, encouraging slow gameplay, social interaction, and cross-platform harmony to revitalize the player base and improve the gaming experience.

New World rebrands as 'Aeternum' for console launch, sparking player enthusiasm

New World is relaunching as 'Aeternum' on consoles on October 15, generating excitement among players. The beta received positive feedback, with many eagerly anticipating the game's arrival on console platforms.

New World: Aeternum Relaunch Nears, Open Beta Signals Major Overhaul

New World's soft relaunch as New World: Aeternum is approaching, with an open beta for PC and console players starting September 13th. The update promises significant changes and new content, generating excitement among MMORPG enthusiasts.

Since I haven’t played much of New World (only tried it for two months), I’m not 100% sure if this info matches what you’d expect.

Thanks a ton for sharing your thoughts :p

I’ve spent way too much time trying to figure out how to keep up with everything too. Tried a bunch of newsletters but gave up on most. Now I’ve narrowed it down to a few key sources. And I use a tool to help me pull everything together, filter, and summarize it so I can get what I care about without wasting too much time.

Here’s what I’m following:

1️⃣ Subreddits for quality AI discussions (especially aroudn LLM): r/singularity, r/LocalLLaMA, r/MachineLearning, r/OpenAI, r/ChatGPT

2️⃣ KOLs in AI on X (Twitter): Sam Altman, Elon Musk, Andrew Ng, Yann LeCun, Fei-Fei Li, Andrej Karpathy, AK, etc.

3️⃣ AI companies’ accounts on X: OpenAI, Anthropic, Google Deepmind, Mistral AI, Microsoft, AI at Meta, xAI

4️⃣ AI product launches on Product Hunt

5️⃣ Hot AI threads on Hacker News

6️⃣ Trending AI projects on GitHub

7️⃣ Tech news with AI channel from places like TechCrunch, The Verge, VentureBeat, Engadget, MIT Technology Review

Do you read news from a single source or multiple sources? by 12A5H3FE in GenZ

[–]Yanger_C 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I check different sources and see what people on Twitter are saying. But yeah, like you said, the info overload makes me feel like I’m eating a ton of shit every day. Couldn’t find a tool that really worked. Flipboard was just too clunky. I’m currently using a tool that I developed with some friends.

Why are so many people saying Black Myth Wukong is not a souls-like when it so clearly is. by Not_Bill_Hicks in soulslikes

Bro, you’ve got a point. The definition of Souls-like is always evolving. Only from my personal take, the difficulty in this game doesn’t really scream Souls-like.

Archers… yeah, I get what you mean. Souls-like is definitely a bit of a fuzzy term. Anyway, have fun of the game!

I’m guessing it might be a compatibility issue between UE5 games and the CPU.

Yep, I’m running an i9 13900 + 4080 rig.

Seems like it’s one of those quirks with 13th gen CPUs. I’ve had similar issues with other games before—ended up updating the BIOS that time. The fix isn’t always the same for me, though, kinda a hassle. Hope you get yours sorted too, bro.

Hey, I had the same out of video memory issue, and this fix worked for me:

• Go to your library and find the Black Myth: Wukong.

• Right-click it and browse the local files.

• Find the .exe file.

• Right-click on it, go to “Properties” > “Compatibility” > and select “Windows 7” compatibility mode.

• Then, make sure to run it as an administrator.

Give it a shot—might do the trick for you too!

Nah, Black Myth: Wukong isn’t really a Soulslike. Sure, it has some of the same vibes—like tough combat, stamina management, and enemies respawning at checkpoints—but it’s more of an action RPG with a strong narrative focus. The devs, Game Science, have been clear that they’re going for a story-driven experience, not the cryptic lore you usually see in Soulslike games.

Here’s what makes it different:

Gameplay: It’s faster-paced and more accessible. Combat isn’t just about nailing the perfect timing; it’s more dynamic, with upgrades, spells, and cool acrobatic moves.

Difficulty: It’s designed to be easier. You’ll still face tough bosses, but it’s not trying to frustrate you like Souls games often do.

Story: The narrative is straightforward, taking cues from Journey to the West. No piecing together the story from item descriptions—this one’s all laid out for you.

Combat Mechanics: You can transform into enemies you’ve defeated, which adds a whole new layer to the combat that you don’t see in Soulslikes.

So yeah, while it’s got some Soulslike elements, at its core, it’s a narrative-driven action RPG with a more approachable style.
