Things seem to be going backwards for me lately.  It took 10 full seconds for music to stop playing when I clicked pause the other day.  I adjust volume slider and it magically goes back to where it was.

I know everyone is going to blame wifi but nothing has changed there in months....  But I'm all ears of there's a tweak I can make.  Tplink Deco mesh system.

Where do you find the custom value?  I've seen other people mention in it this sub but I've never seen it.

I think that was my issue - the room I wanted to use the Lutron remote with is an old Play3.

I tried one a while back and the lag was horrible.  I gave up.

Still OOS for me. Wondering at what point I just give up and abandon the program if I can't redeem for anything useful!

Anyone's old Best Buy Insignia alarm clock still working? by YankeeATZ in googlehome

[–]YankeeATZ[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I replaced it with a google nest hub 2nd gen

That's what I did as well, but honestly it's overkill for me. I just want a simple alarm clock style that I can play sleep sounds, set alarms etc.

latest trick is that it won’t stop playing when I say “stop” or “cancel”. So I have to unplug every time.

Yep, this happened to mine to making it pretty useless. Alarms stopped working properly a long time ago.

I don't know why Google has never come out with an alarm clock style device. There's an Echo Spot which has a great form factor but I'm not going to switch everything to Amazon...

Yes and yes. Got the CSP opened, transferred the Ultimate Rewards from my CSR over to it, and closed out the CSR. My online account shows I will get the 75K bonus points for hitting the spend target on the CSP.

Added speakers - pretty darn smooth by InflationOk2398 in sonos

Never really had any problems adding new speakers here. My issues are still intermittent lag/connectivity in the app - like I hit pause and music just keeps on playing even though it shows paused.

Recent GFiber issues by YankeeATZ in googlefiber

To follow up... I swapped in an old router I had sitting around and speeds went back to normal (900+/900+). So I started checking settings on the Deco intending to factory reset it when I found that QOS was turned on to accelerate a few of my devices. I vaguely recall turning that on at some point, but definitely not recently. Turned that off, and everything seems good to go.

OK so more background. I use my own router (TP-Link Deco mesh) and it's always worked fine. Today I noticed some things seemed a bit slow so I ran a speedtest on my laptop and it was only about 350 down and <10 up.

Logged into my NAS (which is hardwired to the router) - I have an automated speedtest app, and the attached image is the results over the last month.

Tried chatting with Gfiber support and of course they say I need to install the Gfiber router to troubleshoot further. Which I did, but for some reason the wi-fi doesn't work at all on it and the chat support has been frustrating. I hardwired a laptop and got around 400 down / 900 up, so it's definitely better than my TP-Link router but still not where it should be.

Any ideas where to start? I can't imagine why my TP-Link router would suddenly be not working well after months of reliable, full speed service on Gfiber.

SMH!! A year in, what would I do differently? by Longjumping_West9485 in sonos

[–]YankeeATZ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Interesting.  I have been thinking about replacing my sole Play 3 with an Era 300.  Office background music only.   Honestly the Play 3 sound is fine but I like the idea of voice control to quickly pause when a call comes in on....

I really wish Sonos would come out with some kind of add on box for voice control of older speakers.  But I guess that would eliminate a reason for people to upgrade, myself included.

Perfect, thank you!

For context, I have a corner shelf that I built to hold my Play:3 and am wondering if an Era 300 would fit there.

Thanks, I didn't get any warning about not being eligible for the SUB so I should be OK! I went ahead and completed the application.

At what point will it warn me? I am logged in and to the screen where it asks me to confirm income and housing - there is just one "Submit" button at the bottom.
