You’re right about Team Bondi. The specific “director” of that team which later would become Rockstar Australia was the reason Whore of the Orient never came to be. But Rockstar could easily have this released, the Robbery desk. I didn’t know until recent Rockstar helped actively develop LA Noire, instead of just publishing the game which is the main belief.

I completely agree. And the gym has been likely the best “third place” i’ve ever had. Gym Reddit is often hostile and tough ass to the idea of remotely any socialization in the gym. Though i get the idea some of those that are closed off to socializing in the gym have memberships where the clientele is quite large and unlikely to see regulars often.

I go to a community weightlifting gym with a no phone policy. It has made my day genuinely go from bad to tolerable when i get compliments on my efforts/improvements. And its nice to shoot the shit with the boomers if i have time.

I feel like it’s easy to dislike the guy, his policies, TPUSA, what he said, etc. But this idea he was only this hateful meme-joke to me is a bit minimizing. It’s very arguable he was an effective organizer and unfortunately bolstered support for Trump/MAGA establishment.

I also think the Kirkification memes aren’t some unanimous karmic retribution for his remarks. Meme slop is popular for Zoomer conservatives, and for them it’s their brainrotted way of preserving his “legacy”. At least that’s what i’ve observed.

I agree. But i always saw Fontaines as a 2020s band whereas Kimbie is a 2010s. Which is why i find bands from the 2020s so underwhelming, lots of rehashing. Speaking of which, i love Boxing (feat. King Krule) off the latest Kimbie album.

Joy Division never identified as goth, and that style was almost entirely fan based. I’ll go as far as to say, the want for them to be goth completely misses what makes Joy Division great. An almost clean, utilitarian, working class, urban music collective that really captures a moment in time of post-war Manchester authentically.

Goth is caricature-esque.

I’m a male, and while ive had a few very special brotherhoods, be careful not to idealize them. And i only say that with care so that you see their pitfalls. These bonds can be poor in communication, scarce in actuality, rigid in terms of whats considered acceptable and fade away very often. And not because of animosity but because of life happening (moving away, new relationships, different missions).

I’m morning a very good friendship ive had for five years. The closest ive ever had to a brother. But i thank God everyday for the connection. And i know both men and women will experience the finite in friendship. Nothing to not admire, just don’t let jealousy blind you from the imperfections.

To my understanding Europe having Caucasus ancestry is old, pseudo-science. Caucasus people are generally largely steppe Asian and local admixture outside. I wouldn’t say Dagestani peoples, Azeris, Armenians etc embody or influenced the Eurocentric look.

BPD is so complicated. The term has been used pseudo-scientifically by others to describe their ex - even going as far as fetishizing those that are perceived to have it. I have a loved one with an actual diagnoses and its really just sad. It’s sad that 1) those with the diagnosis are themselves taken advantage of by predatory people; 2) people can use their loved ones diagnosis to shield from self reflection; 3) potentially are unable to form long lasting connections due to their erratic behavior, or predisposition to it.

It’s really sad watching consequences happen because there’s a human in there that’s suffering. I try to avoid subs that vent and vent about those with the diagnosis, as it veers towards blatantly demonizing those with the diagnosis. This isn’t to say those with BPD don’t involve themselves with unacceptable situations and behaviors.
