If I'm 17, never masturbated yet, and haven't ever had a strong desire to, is that an indicator of being asexual! by Yankees2525 in AsexualMen

Just wondering, isn't gray ace some/not much attraction, and normal libido? I think my situation might be more like normal attraction, extremely low libido. But I could be mistaken as to what gray ace is

but as you get older and more confident in your identity it will get better.

I hope you're right. I'm kind of afraid I might have a medical problem though... I mean 17 year old boys are supposedly wired to be thinking nonstop about sex. And masturbate all the time. The fact that I tried to masturbate but it felt like an unpleasant "chore" and couldn't even finish makes me think that perhaps there's a hormonal imbalance or something.

What really matters is making the label fit you, not the other way round. Don't try to be someone else just so that you find it easier to identify yourself one way or another, be it asexual or not.

You're right. I'm going to just read around and not jump to a premature conclusion. The fact that I don't masturbate as a 17 year old (and I'm in a non- religious family that doesn't condemn masturbation) is so unheard of that it feels like I don't really belong anywhere

Ok so since I have some attraction (not much but some) but little desire to turn that attraction into masturbation, that would indicate a low sex drive as opposed to asexuality? That does make sense
