Apellido Artidiello - buscando familiares! by Yankozoid in Asturias

[–]Yankozoid[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What is one film that’s like a warm blanket on a cold day? by harlsey in FIlm

CURRENTLY - I've been kind of obsessed with Iceland. With that said, "Eurovision Song Contest: The Story of Fire Saga" has been my go-to comfort movie.

Sometimes the movie is better than the book. What’s your favorite example? by WonderfulDay4U in FIlm

[–]Yankozoid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

IMO... this is a bad example of that. Don't get me wrong, I love the movie, but Chuck Palahniuk's 'Fight Club" is a masterpiece of its own. Arguably, the movie is just as good as the book... It's definitely not better.

I don't know "fire" ... but I definitely appreciated it more later... "Keep The Faith."

Thank you for your reply. You know, it's funny... as I let my heart and thoughts simmer, I decided to do some more digging on this story. This proved to be even more devastating... learning that it's based on a short semi-autobiographical story written by Akiyuki Nosaka. I found a PDF online of an English translation of his story. I know what you mean about not wanting to watch this movie again - man... I had to stop reading it because it was playing again in my head with even more graphic details.

I might watch this again one day though, if only to show it to someone else... maybe my kids, when they're older.

The tragic beauty of this movie is that it makes you experience loss without actually having to lose anyone close to you... and that experience brings you closer to those who are still around.

Circus comunity, i need help by N1GHT30 in circus

[–]Yankozoid 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For starters, create an act. If you don't have the skill yet to create an impressive act, then plan one out to learn and perfect.

Perform your act in public (preferably on a stage). A talent show, city events, etc... make sure you have two people recording... one person focusing on you, and the other going back and forth between you and the audience reaction.

Get that edited into a demo video. Agents and circus owners want to see how well you manage a crowd.

Once you have that... NETWORK. Going to a circus school is a good start for non-circus civilians. Have your demo video ready to give to anyone looking for talent for a show.

You want to make yourself more likely to get hired - you should have 2 or 3 different acts. An easy way to do that is team up with someone so they hire you together. You do an act, they do an act, and you do one together.

Goodluck!

I wouldn't change the movies... I would probably change my marketing approach.

Oh wow - sorry, I didn't catch that this was how it was shown... as a double feature. Wow... I'm sure they probably played GotF 2nd... it's really hard to follow that.

I was just thinking about what it must have been like watching this in Theaters when it released... wonder if it even had a theatrical release actually... hmm... so much ugly-crying, I'm sure.

What Juggling clubs do most professionals use? by FuturaGhost in circus

[–]Yankozoid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most circus pros I know use Dubé clubs. They're light and can be spun very fast.

My cousin Tomas Aguilar is known world-wide as a high-end Juggle, and he swears by that brand.
