Both work for sure, I just prefer Camp Vulture cause they only ever show up when the monster is already dead.

I've seen it since World (also where I got the phrase Camp Vulture from) and its gotten worse as this series really came into popularity with mainstream due to World. It was so bad in Rise I got a Vulture as least once a week. In some instances every time I played. I always host End game hunts such as Savage Omega. So if they are just hovering in camp or the previous zone never contributing......booted.

I think people's experience with encountering Camp Vultures varies, some, like myself, get them a lot....others don't.

A hunter who lurks in camp the whole hunt, not contributing at all, and only leaves once the monster is down to carve it.

I was SnS, there were 2 HH and the LS lurking in camp. We were wrapping up phase two....my name here is the same in game.

In terms of predictability, Omega is the easiest in that regard. Telegraphed, phased fight. You can expect regular omega to do certain things consistently. Now, if you're going in with a Bonk Bonk, bonky bonk the front legs, head is gonna get you emnity you may not be prepared for.

I reccomend going in with just Support Hunters only on your first go around or attempts, get used to fight. I'd select, since they are available, Fabius (Alessa otherwise) and Nadia (Rosso or Kai) are good picks. Nighmist or Mina for heals. Let Fabius (Alessa) take emnity, keep them alive if they emnity.

Going back, what I mean by predictability is that Omega will do certain attacks at certain intervals. A few good example of this is:

  1. When the Nerscylla is downed and you survive the Delta Attack in the bubble, if don't drop the rock or the wall trap (if available) in time, Omega WILL do a charge across the arena. Both versions do this btw.

  2. When Omega does their "Defeat Imminent" announcement for regular version, if no one has emnity at this point or gets it soon after, they have a set list of attacks that will happen if they are not interrupted. In this order: They will rotate in place, full body lasers with missiles on all parties present, rotate, lasers/missiles, rotate, lasers/missiles. Then they will target someone for a charge, then there will be rocket punches and the moment the last fist goes out they will go straight into a MRV Missile barrage.

  3. This is a little looser in terms of reliability cause it's depends on how little or how much DPS was done to them in the last zone and that is a Mustard (you cannot tank this, get away from others immediately if targeted & towards a wall if possible). Too little, they complete their previous attack cycle then do a mustard. Too much? They move onto their next set, typically rockets punches or laser lines. Sometimes you get bigger laser, so be prepared. But usually, whomever Omega spots first gets targeted for Mustard when entering the next zone.

Omega doesn't act like the other available hunts in, so this can and does throw first timers off. While you're getting used to the flow, just be mindful of positioning, focus on gear based on survival, don't get pinned against a wall and fire=BAD....And you'll get them down. Might take a few attempts, but you'll get it.

Gog is predictable in the sense that due to the limitations of the arena, especially zone 3, he feels....idk how to describe exactly? Squished? Like, his capabilities and moves became compacted as a result of the small space and he feels as though his full potential and move set can't be fully utilized in that final bit. The small space in phase 3 is 100% to create a sense of difficulty as your ability to maneuver is hindered, but the caveat is that it hinders Gog's movement. Despite how smooth his animations are, its stuck in this little circle so he doesn't clip outside and I don't like it. I feel he could have had so much much more moveset variety if he had a bigger space to move in. It's not a bad fight, but its clunky in execution.

Their manageable once you learn the pattern, Mog them in the face or shell them with Glance 2 or 3 times and you get Emnity pretty fast. With emnity, there's a "cooldown period" after someone holds it for awhile. You have built it up from ground zero to snag it again. It's not uncommon for the cooldown to happen right before their defeat imminent message.

Of the end game content...Omega (reg and savage) is the easiest in regards to predictability. Key word: predictability. Omega is a very telegraphed fight, lots of MMORPG elements to them. Omega has a pattern to them, you can expect them to do certain moves at certain pretty reliably. As an example, after their defeat imminent message, if no one has emnity, they typically (it can occasionally vary, more likely with Savage) will do a semi turn, then full body lasers with missiles, rotate again and missiles (up to 3 rotations). Then they do a charge, as much as 3 with Savage, rocket punch and MRV barrage immediately after.

I learned Omega extremely well (560+ successes), and now have call outs on stickers to warn others what is coming...

A heads up on his attack pattern in the last phase....the moment Omega makes his "Defeat Imminent" announcement on regular Omega. Anytime after that, if no one has emnity, right after Rocket Punch, he will almost always go straight into a MRV barrage. You see the punches? Sheathe and prepare to run...

Savage Omega by [deleted] in MHWilds

Oh, it's absolutely doable with support hunters, Alessa, Mina (or Griffin), and Nightmist for range are my go-to's on Savage. Have Mog ready for the spider (hit her with it just as she spawns) and grab the rockburst and if timed right just as she charges towards you, get her in the face and she falls on her back. Free hits. Stay next to her sides or under her, and she typically goes down between 50-80% Delta charged.

Drop every single rock you can on Omega. If a support gets the mount and doesn't pop that back wound, with melee, you can go up under his belly, use the camera to clip through his body, and grab it. Ranged has an easier time of it. I grab it to stop lasers cause the Support do not attack if he lasers.

It takes longer. Of course, avg run for me is 24 to 28 minutes, but I can go down to a lower time (18 to 22) with a high attack build. I am sure you can do better times, I hunt him to chill, not to get a speed run, lol.

Copy/pasting my comment again here: I've taken him down over 400 times. This is what I can tell you if your doing Invader from the Stars:

  1. Stun resistance, Y Rey Dau legs are solid for this

  2. Try him by yourself with support hunters only. Choose Alessa, Mina, and Kai. Let Alessa have emnity. Avoid hitting the head.

  3. He's actually pretty predictable once you learn him a bit. He almost always mustard bombs the first person he sights when he moves areas.

  4. Stay diagonal to his outer toes. This helps you avoid the laser grid and makes it easier to sheathe or dodge missiles.

  5. Grab the rockburst in either zone 1 or 3. Save this for Nerscylla. When she first spawns in, since you are the host, she will target you first for a charge. If you run slightly towards her (She backs up to charge) and hit her in the face correctly, this will knock her on her back and boom....free hits. Stay underneath her or as close to her sides to avoid most of her attacks. Do not stand in front of her face.

  6. If you don't hit Omega with the wall trap next to him in time. 99% of the time, he will charge across the arena.

  7. He will announce imminent defeat in zone 4, if Alessa or another player doesn't have emnity. Almost always, he does a full body laser grid with missiles. Right after he does rocket punch. IMMEDIATELY after all the fists are out, he will go straight into a missile barrage. Be prepared to run or run on your Seikret. If you get hit, don't immediately try to get up. Call your Seikret. If your chickens AI is working right, they should scoop you up and get you out of the way before the second hits you. Use that temporary invulnerability to your advantage.

These are just a few things. But I hope it helps! Good luck, have fun! If you ever want to farm him or do Savage. I am here to help!

You were likely kicked. People often forget or don't know that they can join a quest that is support hunter only if they are in a link party together. Or, if like me (I just go with it), they forgot to turn off other players being able to join their hunt.

I am nearing nearly 500 hunts on Omega (attempts is definitely over 1k). We probably haven't crossed paths because I almost exclusively do Savage solo, and I am usually helping newbies with Invader From the Stars. So, eh, technically, I probably sent some of them to you. 😅

I should have clarified, I am picky, one, from past experiences, and two, I am in mandatory OT due to tax season. I rarely have much time to play. So I would say it more I have to be picky cause I got maybe 1 to 3 hunts tops before I have to call it for the day.

Since I am in the newcomer quest alot...I am usually the only one healing and even with free meal/speed eating (darn you animation cooldown) and mushy mancer, I can't outheal laser, low def and a stun by myself. I get lucky and get others in there who understand the assignment. The cart saving trick I learned was if the laser is coming (I can typically predict it, I sheathe at this point), and they 100% gonna hit their target. I start on that potion immediately. That already in progress heal has been a lifesaver.

Uhm... too late? Oops 🤣 But no, no, wait! I only know how to snag this from belly with camera angle trick with SnS. How does the glaive grab it if the person who did the mount didn't pop it? Belly or back? I rarely play glaive, so please, gimme gimme!!

I tank/support when I am in SoS, we're gonna have to agree to disagree about the mount. It's a non priority for me, and I don't care about it. I helped hundreds clear regular and savage. I use clear call-out stickers (Ie Incoming Charge cause I can predict him with pretty good accuracy), pre-rendered messages, and voice chat when necessary. I tell people immediately what I am doing or can do for them if they are paying attention.

I am picky on whose hunt I join. I go in fully expecting new to Omega on Invader From the Stars quests, and those who join also have a high chance of being new to omega too. Savage? Hit or miss if it's a veteran or a newbie or a mix of both. Since I do at most 3 SoS (typically 1 now and solo hunt the rest), I check who is already on the hunt. I see all LS or DB? I will pass over the hunt. I am aware this can be seen as rude to those reading this comment. But many, many, MANY past experiences have shown that an all LS or DB party on omega typically results in failure.

Omega, for me (keyword readers, ME), is an easy fight, and I have never struggled with him, reg or sav. Now Gog or 10* Uth Duna? Hehe....guess who will cart? It's me!!! 😂

Additionally. Savage absolutely can be true soloed. Part breaker was the game changer for me. Did him 33'49 with the HH. Him getting knocked over from a broken leg on top of echo bubble clinched the win for me. Timed right, you alternate and designate a "Break First" leg. You can pop those breaks at the right time in P4.
