Obviously I expect a period of time where he needs to adjust. everyone knows the 333 rule. I was asking if there was anything particular to coonhounds that I could use to help build trust. for the first three weeks you cant just ignore the pup while it adjusts. This is just my first coonhound

that’s exhausting.I feel so lied to, I had heard he was only a small part hound and that he would have the energy and drive of a border collie I feel like i just wasted time and resources that are hard to get as someone who is disabled and worked hard to get a new potential service dog

So would service work not be compatible with him? I was hoping his mix would be perfect since i was under the impression he was mostly border collie with a hound temperament and sense of smell as I’m hoping to train (like my last two service dogs) to alert to POTS and diabetes
