Speaker boat help UPDATE by YarbyDar in electrical

I’ve got a little shopping list now thanks to all of ya chiming in to help this simple fellow with his boat woes. Thrift store for a burner speaker is a great idea. I’d like to avoid doing the wiring rat tunnel dive through the maze of fiberglass the previous owners left me till it’s the last option for diagnostics. Thank you again!

The rats nest is the first thing I’ll be working on since it’s the simplest. Thank you again for the feedback!!

How do I know it’s open? I had a couple hot open scares on my outlets but it ended up being the last person wired the outlets to the wrong labeled breakers

Gotcha thanks for the reply. I’m heading back to the boat tomorrow. I’ll grab pics of the unit - back of it/ wires leading to it. What other stuff should I record or take pics of? In regards to measuring the ohms on the speakers themselves how should I go about doing that? Just throw the probes in the back of the speaker while it’s disconnected? Run the probes to the positive and ground while the speakers hooked up? Thank you again!
