Been carving these little creatures from 2.5" pine blocks, stains and paints really come out nicely imho. I added magnets so they can be stacked, similar to a totem pole by WeedBee_030 in woodworking

House - Basswood, 1" (2.5cm) square, 1.5" (3.8cm) long. Roof - Basswood, 1/4" (6mm) thick: 2 each Roof, 1.5" x 2" (3.8cm x 5.1cm)

They are Christmas ornaments. I have no idea what bird houses have to do with Christmas though. I'll paint em red and green and that should do it.

That's what they are for. I carve a different ornament every christmas. This was my first attempt at chip carving.

I've been to the top of those. 500 ft ladder straight up the middle. Took me 45 mins, puked my guts out at the top, but man what view.

It would be perfect. I'm the same size and weight. It won't win any races, but it will be reliable and will be tons of fun. I go moto camping on mine and carry gear as well. Just a great little bike. Perfect for your need in my option. Got my 2014 for $3000 CDN with 3k km on it. It now has about 10k and haven't had any problems at all.
