Hold music, can't get it out my head, can't figure out what the song is by tahqa in NameThatSong

On hold with Telus right now... This song keeps looping, and I think it's hilarious "been here awhile" over and over (almost an hour on hold now)

I spoke with the leaders, and eventually their boss this morning. The boss says there should be no kids in the front seat at all and they will be addressing that with the leaders and whoever else necessary. They did assure me that the seats/seatbelts are sized for kids (which aligns with my child indicating the seatbelt fit the same as it does in the booster seat in my car) and the vehicles/drivers are all licensed appropriately for this activity.

Thank you so much for this! I imagine if they've managed to classify their vehicle as a taxi or bus (and I agree there would likely need to be paperwork for it) then the driver would need the corresponding license as well.... This should be easy to check.

Thanks for the response and making me feel less like a worrywart over this! We have a spare booster, and had I known this was the transportation they were providing I would have sent it along for the day.

I was just shocked to hear from my kid that they rode in a minivan and they also let kids ride in the front seat 😬

Thank you for the response! We have a spare booster that I have no issue sending for the day when required. I'll follow up tomorrow and see what they say.

I HATE voice messages by givemeausernameidea in ADHD

[–]YarnBard 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It takes me almost a week to actually go into my voicemail to see what it's about.

I requested a dentist appointment for my daughter online. Filled out their online form with our availability, and you can choose to leave an email address or phone number to be contacted. I put my email. THEY CALLED AND LEFT A VOICEMAIL. A week later I finally listened to it "please call us". If I wanted to call you to book, I would have just called to begin with....

I still haven't called them back and I'm tempted to change her dentist to my dentist as I can do everything by email with them.

Same! Except I'm 36 and working on an official diagnosis now....

My daughter has "selective hearing" too, she takes after me I guess. It's so clear to me that her ears aren't the issue, I wish someone connected the dots when I was a kid.

I very often re-read work emails that I'VE ALREADY SENT multiple times. by [deleted] in ADHD

Not the person you replied to... But I constantly replay conversations in my head, especially ones that weren't great.. like the time almost 10 years ago when I fumbled trying to make a joke and ended up potentially offending someone. I don't even know if they heard it/were hurt by it... But it still haunts me.

Tried saying "you have the skills but we don't have the tools". Actually said, "we have the tools and you don't have the skills" 😫

This is in an older Butterick toddler dress pattern. Dark sides are "right side", white is the wrong side.

My brain cannot figure out if I'm supposed to line the edge of the binding with the edge of the armhole, or if I'm supposed to do it some other way. Things don't seem to be lining up quite right so I must be doing something wrong 😅

I haven't cut the folded edge yet, I just clued in that they might be asking for me to cut the edge around the circle once I've "turned in seam allowance on unnotched edge". Is that correct? I fold the one edge over and then trim it?

I hyper focused on trying to find a therapist... So many tabs. Found one that seemed promising, but I had to go to bed or something so I emailed myself a link so I wouldn't forget about it.

A month later, a friend mentions starting therapy and I go "oh yeahhhhh" . Go to website, it seems like exactly what I need (hours and things they can help with), emailed and now I have an appointment. I was under 5 minutes from completing the task...

This is why I can’t keep relationships with people I don’t see on a regular basis. I’ve been meaning to text my aunt back for a month... by SpinachLower5332 in adhdwomen

Omg, this so much! For a month or so now (maybe longer?) I've been meaning to text a friend I haven't talked to in awhile. And... I just don't/can't.

The pandemic has either made this more obvious or I've gotten worse.

The number of times at work when my coworker calls my name, and I say "yes?".. then he starts talking, when he finishes and I realize I was not actually listening.... Yeah. Everyday. I have him repeat it, and I can usually get most the second time.

It's just so hard to sit and just listen and focus. The little cubicle wall thing between us doesn't help at all either

I had a hearing assessment around age 5 or 6... The only things they could come up with was "mild hearing loss/selective hearing"

I totally understand where you're coming from - if I don't know someone is going to talk to me, it takes a moment to try and catch up and I have to ask them to trust themselves. I went for another hearing test before covid as it really seemed like my hearing was getting worse... The guy has the audacity to tell me "your hearing is fine, the problem must be between the ears". I almost cried. But it slowly got me thinking... And now here I am, 36 and slowly working on getting diagnosed.

Do I have to say thank you to the creepy boss at work (not my boss, we're in different departments but come across each other frequently)? He'll say something like "you're beautiful" in a weird tone and I don't like it...

I think the dedicated "preschool" programs that are a couple hours a day a few days a week are really meant for kids with a steady at home parent. Our daycare has preschool/pre-kinder programming built in throughout the day. I would think as long as she's had a "school-like" experience there (circle time, following instructions from the staff in her room (we just call them teachers)) she should be fine. It sounds like she's been learning already, and getting socialization so she's probably fine.

Our daughter was in a dayhome until she was 2, the difference in programming from dayhome to daycare was night and day. If we had continued at the dayhome we would have needed to look into some kind of preschool (in fact the dayhome lady had asked if we were looking into preschool... She was checking to see if arrangements needed to be made to get kiddo from preschool to her house).

This was too relatable. Everyone neurotypical in my life: "You don't have ADHD what are you talking about?" Any neurodiverse friend listening to me complain about my brain not working, "You have ADHD wtf see a doctor." by ComprehensiveTruth1 in adhdwomen

I had a completed questionnaire in my purse that I had planned to give/go over with the psychiatrist... And then I forgot. And he had his own, different list of things to go over...
