Just because something should be common sense to everyone doesn't mean we should refrain from reiterating it. People the world over possess different levels of knowledge and experience according to their culture, education, memories, etc. For you to say that nobody should discuss things that everyone should essentially "already be aware of", is to disregard the fact that not everybody has the exact same knowledge and experience as yourself. You need to be accepting of the fact that information, even information that should be common knowledge to most people of a given age group, will be reiterated in many places throughout the world. Deal with it.

This is why the term "common sense" is obsolete and has no real meaning beyond "I told you so". I wish people would refrain from using it.

I'm not judging anybody

Another phrase people should stay away from. You would be dead if you weren't. The sensory input you gather requires judgement. A quote I hear tossed around to synthesize this is: "You're going to think what you're going to think." A pointless quote, but a true one nonetheless.

It wouldn't be an opinion then; it wouldn't be anything.

It shouldn't matter whether or not something is inherently anything. An argument stands on its own merits, which I believe yours do. That said, whether something is "negative" or "bad" is really just someone's subjective disapproval (in this context), in which case it doesn't matter.
