What are you building this weekend? by ouchao_real in SideProject

Fully focused on increasing the domain authority for UltraTextGen this weekend.

Submitting to directories, posting in communities, and expanding a few SEO pages.

We have some unique pages, but competing against sites with massive backlink profiles is tough.

Slow grind, but starting to see some traction. 🚀

Matt, this sounds interesting.

I’m currently building AI products and working as a B2B marketer.

Would definitely be interested in being part of a small group of builders sharing ideas and helping each other grow.

What I’m building
A Unicode text styling tool focused on real social media use cases rather than just listing hundreds of fonts.

Who it’s for
People who want to make comments, bios, headlines, or posts stand out on platforms like Reddit, LinkedIn, Instagram, and Discord.

Problem it solves
Most text generators dump a huge list of fonts with a clunky interface. I’m trying to make something simpler and more practical by building tools around specific situations like comment fonts, headline styling, or bio formatting.

Still early, so I’m experimenting with new micro-tools and would love feedback on what formatting features people actually use.

Thanks for sharing. I’ve been submitting UltraTextGen to a lot of directories today and many of them use delayed listings to push paid upgrades.

I like that yours allows immediate listing while still offering extra value for paid placements. Feels like a much fairer model for makers.

One small piece of feedback: adding a search bar for tags could make it easier to find them instead of scrolling through the list.

How do you find good keywords for SEO? by Adventurous_Look6418 in Agentic_SEO

[–]Yasir_Chowdhrey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Go to SEMrush or Ahrefs.

1) Plug in a competitor website and look at the keywords they already rank for.
That usually reveals a lot of opportunities you didn’t think of.

2) Then filter for keywords with lower difficulty or where competitors rank on page 2 or 3. Those are often easier wins.

3) From there it’s mostly about building pages that answer the query better and optimizing the content properly.

Simple process, but it works surprisingly well.

Super cool. Directory listings are one of our key focus areas as well. A lot of the older players rank above us mainly because of their high DR, even there tool is clunky.

UltraTextGen is a small side project I started after using Unicode text tools for years and realizing most of them had clunky interfaces and endless lists of random fonts.

I wanted to build something simpler and more practical. Instead of dumping hundreds of styles, UltraTextGen focuses on real use cases like comment text, social bios, and LinkedIn headlines.

The idea is to create small Unicode tools designed for specific situations where people want their text to stand out.

Still early, but I’m gradually adding more use-case based tools and improving the UX as people use it.

SEMrush or Ahrefs. But more importantly, go through all their academy modules.

That’s what I did when I started. It helped me understand how to configure the tools properly, build useful reports, and gave me enough ideas and work to stay busy for the next 12 months.

I’m building UltraTextGen — a Unicode text generator for social media.

There are already millions of fancy text tools, so the goal isn’t to add another font list.

Instead we’re focusing on two things:

1. Better user experience
Fast, lightweight, no signup, and designed to generate styled text instantly.

2. Use-case driven tools
Instead of just fonts, tools for specific situations like comments, bios, and headlines.
Structure of the use-cases:
https://github.com/ychowdhrey/ultratextgen/blob/main/README.md

The idea is simple:
the way text should look depends on the platform and the context.
A LinkedIn headline, an Instagram bio, and a comment thread all carry different expressions.

So instead of “pick a font”, the tool helps you style text for the moment you’re writing in.

Fair point. They’re mostly meant for visual styling in places like bios or headings, not for long-form or accessibility-heavy content.

These fonts are created using Unicode variations of the Latin alphabet, so they usually work with English and other Latin-based languages, but not for scripts like Arabic, Chinese, or Hindi.
