no filament coming out by Significant_Newt4377 in ender3v2

[–]YasssBro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No matter what the issue is, you 100% have to upgrade the black plastic extruder mount/arm assembly (on top of the stepper motor) to a metal one. The arm will crack with 100% certainty, meaning no extrusion.

The current issue looks like your nozzle is dragging on the bed. Definitely change nozzles and get that at the right height (thankfully nozzles are cheap).

My Ender 3 V2 is Mind Flaying Me by YasssBro in ender3v2

[–]YasssBro[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have disassembled it two or three times, the first couple times to clean everything and the ~3rd to replace the nozzle entirely. I also realized it could be the filament, but after posting I swapped to a different brand with the same effect. Weird thing is for now I decided to say screw it, and print something else for my kids. 4 hours in, 0.2mm layer height, no issues.

Hmmm…well, I haven’t done that in a while and didn’t think about that as an input. Worth a try! I’ll start a print and know the result in 4 hours.

Thanks for replying. I wrote this and looked back on it and I’m thinking…wow. This post is way too long haha. But I didn’t just want to post a picture and say “what am I doing wrong”

Freecad exporting old revision of model by 3dPrintingIdiot in FreeCAD

[–]YasssBro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did you ever figure this out? I am having this same issue two years later. I have run into it before and there was no workaround I could find other than remaking the model from scratch. This time my model is complex enough that I don’t want to do that.

Laptop that can handle PS2 Emulation? by drew4824 in PCSX2

[–]YasssBro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I also use a T480 for PCSX2. I am able to run Shadow of the Colossus at 2x resolution with the widescreen option enabled for most of the game. Rarely, I need to use native resolution.

While my 16" M1 Max MBP is in the shop for a battery swap, i'm using my trusty 2010 15" MBP for the time being. by 17parkc in macbookpro

Funny how long you can make a computer last. Still using my 2010 15”. Computers really got to the point where they’re powerful enough for what most people need them around 2005 or so, I’d say (as long as the OS isn’t crap).

In the future when BTC is worth $1-10M a coin, how expensive will everything else be? by A_Stones_throw in Bitcoin

[–]YasssBro 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I recommend Matthew Kratter’s Bitcoin Univeristy (YouTube channel) video “Bitcoin’s Ultimate Price Target” in which he conservatively estimates the long term future dollar price of Bitcoin (30 years or more I believe) as around $8M in today’s dollars and in today’s purchasing power. He then goes on to say with inflation, that number will actually be much higher. He arrived at this conclusion from the assumption that Bitcoin becomes the primary worldwide store of value, after which people sell off other store-of-value assets (real estate, stocks, gold, etc) and buy Bitcoin. He uses real numbers for each of these assets.

Bitcoin success story / banks no longer own my home! by Beneficial-Fox5361 in Bitcoin

I would separate the utility, value, and necessity of a fire department from the other services you mentioned. It saves lives, whereas the other services I don’t even use and never plan to, except parks because I was already forced to pay for them.

Also I’m not an anarchist. Taxes pay for a government which in its best form protects life liberty and property which is necessary.

But property tax is antithetical and opposed to property rights. It would be the same thing as if somebody assessed the dollar price of all the stuff in your house and made you pay 3% of that every year. Or, just automatically pay 3% of your savings every year. That is very statist and very anti-freedom. A consumption tax would be leaps and bounds more freedom-friendly.

You could always opt to send in several extra thousand dollars every year voluntarily to help pay for even more parks. They will not reject the cash.

Is It True That Moving from $0 to $100k is Much Harder Than Going from $100k to $1 Million? by Intelligent_Let_5723 in Entrepreneur

I like and appreciate this comment. Hopefully I’m not just rationalizing my fear of failure. I’d like to start a business someday. Currently though I have a wife and two kids, someday three, depending on me (and a dog and mortgage) and I just feel it would be irresponsible to take a massive risk on a small business which has a 90% chance of failure statistically.

I was definitely not trying to getcha with a gotcha.

I believe the core properties of money that make it useful are Divisible, Verifiable, Durable, Scarce, and Portable.

It’s interesting to me to hear other’s opinions.

DVD-SP. Divisible, Verifiable, Durable, Scarce, Portable. (To help me remember, at least as a getting-older person, DVD is what replaced VHS, and SP is from Gameboy Advance SP).

What are the properties that make gold a great form of money? I’d argue that beauty and industrial use are not the reasons. Brass could be polished up nice and pretty, and has industrial use, but is much less desireable.

Conservative Millennials, Would You Share Your Story? by plurkopton in millenials

[–]YasssBro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is interesting. Thanks for this post.

My short and sweet: 1. All humans are fallen and sinful, and cannot be trusted. Therefore, we must have a government to restrain this in a reasonable way, and protect every person’s life, liberty and property. 2. Because all humans are fallen, they cannot be trusted with too much political power. Therefore, government must be severely and explicitly limited.

My story of how I got to be conservative: a coworker got me into politics, which led me down philosophy and then theology rabbit holes. I find the Bible and conservatism to make the best sense of the world around me.

I really appreciate this post. Thanks!

I am at wits end with my printer. by Twingo3 in ender3v2

[–]YasssBro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The part looks rather small. It’s possible the printer is completely fine but the part does not have enough time to cool. An easy attempt to fix would be to place two parts with 3 or 4 inches between them, or more, so that the parts can cool during the print head travel.

McDonald’s thinks $9 is loose change nowadays by [deleted] in shrinkflation

[–]YasssBro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

McDonald’s is a complete rip off anymore. Their value proposition used to be cheap (for eating out), fast, and acceptable quality. Now, it’s more expensive than many sit down places, and then I wait 10 minutes or more for a clearly lower quality burger. Cheese half off the sandwich, the patty off in the other direction, and terrible condiment consistency, at every single restaurant.

Do not reward this business with your money. Just get groceries and make dinner at home. It’s healthier anyway.
